Default Having Fun with a 350Z

Me and my friend were driving home from school today to pick up my ss from my house and we ran into this guy with a blue 350z. So he was talkin smack about how he can whoop camaro's and i was like whos Camaro have you been racing? So we agreed to meet twenty minutes later so thati could pick up my car. We decided to race light to light about a quatermile, little bit longer , enough to hit about 110-15. So anyway we raced and by the next light i had oh i dont know maybe 6-8 carlengths on him, it was fun shutting that guy up, talked to him afterward, all he said was "damn!" i think i got him hooked on ls1's but well just have to see.

Ps those things are fast like a 13.5 stock

.
I am assuming you are stock, or close ... and yes, they are high 13 second cars.

Cool looking cars, and will be bigtime contenders when their aftermarket picks up.

I like their styling, but that's about it.
Nice kill.

I drive a 99 TA vert, and sell nissans. the 350 vert is only 30-40 pounds heavier than the coup. even so the wait on them is roughly 3400 lbs for an auto. they are not very quick off the line compared with my car, and it is a stock a4 w/3.73 gear

1. You're going by HP ratings GM set for your car, big no no.
2. You're bench dyno'ing ...
3. I asked you what you have done, and you said "slightly modded".

If you think you picked up 15-20 hp, you probably have a lid/catback or something along those lines. Wouldn't it just be easier to tell us, considering this is your story, rather than sitting here guestimating the power your car put down, and overestimating a 350z by a half-full second.

Just a pet-peeve of mine, sorry.

That's what I was saying with the aftermarket.

There is Nissan dealer by me where a friend of mine works ... they have a few 350Z test cars ... one of them has a host of bolt ons and like a 300 shot .... I believe another one is getting a large single turbo system and a built engine put onto it as we speak. They should be pumping out some badass cars soon enough.

I just put a twin turbo kit from Greddy on my fiends 350z...with only 6lbs of boost and a 9:1 air/fuel...it made 372 rwhp. With some tuning and a few bolt ons, it should be seeing about 410-420 rwhp on only 6psi. Greddy's car with 10lbs and pump gas is making 519 rwhp

I don't know what "specs" you are looking at, but a half-full second is a big error. How about some actual cars, who have actually RUN a quarter mile, and don't just ASSume what they run.

13.9 seconds @ 102mph

as shocking as it may be, mike, but the auto Zs arent really that much slower. from the times that i have seen posted on my350z, they run the quarter in about 14.2 to 14.4 range. one guy ran a 14.1 at about 100, STOCK. the fastest i have seen the 6MT's run is around 13.8 or 13.9. here is the slip from one of the auto guys.....(shows a 14.xx)

Yeah ... so where was it that you "looked up the specs?"
