Fuse pull #5 and #20, both 15a fuses in the fuse box under hood. The auto is a high 12 car in stock form with good air/driver. On the norm, low 13's. There are auto cars getting into the 11s with just bolt ons now, one runs 11.7 with the stock tq converter.

A high 12 stock with an auto is not the norm at all, matter of fact its great driving, weather and a lucky pass. Whoever said bottom 12's stock and maybe 11's next year is smoking something.

I was saying some have hit high 12's, most run low 13's stock. low 12's is on crack for sure, 11's on acid....

A lot of people seem to think that these days. 4th gen LS1 in the late 90's? What a POS, they weren't EVEN that fast back then...

I agree completely, I was poking at the crazy people who think the 5th gen is a mid 12 car average and keeps getting faster everyone they open their mouths.

How you been? Hitting up hangoverfest at Dova?

4th gens were fast then when the LS1 debuted-nothing could touch one sans an exotic.
Our 5th gen might be lucky to run 13.7s....

Doing great, will maybe go and watch. Have a shifter and tune to install. I think a well driven 5th manual is 12.6 to 12.8 and around 13.2 auto.

I understand, i used to own one. My brothers cammed 5.0 would rape LS1's and that was far from an exotic. Also, Back then, they were selling (or trying to sell) at way too high a price new. I remember in 04' my friend was trying to buy one of the countless unsold WS6's on a car lot and they were trying to sell em for something like $33,000!! for an f-body!

Mine stickered for 23k, the SS and the WS6 suffered from horrible markups.

i think that all 4th gens and 5th gens are slow...maybe its time that we all step up and buy some vvt civics!

i do love my 4th gen and have no plans to sell it but if i could afford to go out and buy a new ss i would in a heart beat. it is a much better designed car than the 4th gen as far as quality and comfort, it is a much more refined version of our cars also just like our 4th gens they can be modded to a point where your not going to run into many other cars on the street that are gonna give you a run for your money. i think that with all the extra saftey and emissions crap the goverment threw at car companys in the last ten years its amazing that anyone builds a stock car that performs as well as the 5th gen. bottom line is, both cars are bad *** and the only reason more camaro fans are not driving a 5th gen is simply a matter of cost. (then again thats also why iam not driving a new zr1 vette, lol)

i have to say after driving a new ss i would never say its more comfortable than my t/a. they may be built a little better than the 4th gens, but it felt like i was sitting in a brick chair looking out portholes on a cruise ship. then again i never liked the 4th gen camaros either (yes there is a difference between a 4th gen camaro and trans am). id rather go for a vette than a new camaro.

Me and my bro both had 4th gens for years, he still has his T/A and I had 2 z28s... I never noticed much difference other then change in the looks, but the feel was the same along with the build quality.

i had a 98 z28, i got tired of feeling like i was sitting on the floor. the huge doors, mountain dashboard and small interior space was just too much for me after a few years. the LS1 was nice but the rest of the car just didnt do it for me though.

This is exactly how I felt. I couldn't sit in the passenger seat without my knees in my chin and any more then 2 hours in the car would kill my back. Its the sportster of cars.

a 5th gen is a better built vehicle all around and in addition to being able to be a bit quicker then a 4th gen in a straight line... it also can out brake, out corner, out comfort, just out.... everything compared to a 4th gen.

Thats one main reason why people who dont live at a drag strip seem to enjoy it. Same with the 5.0 and the 4.6 before it.

Agreed. It's light years ahead of the 4th gen in terms of build quality and nearly every other category as well. I just can't get over the appearance, but that's purely subjective.

I really was a big 4th gen fan and didnt care much about the 5th gen. I drove it once.... just one time and i nearly traded in my car in on it just due to how much better the trans shifted. let alone how solid the car felt. for a stock vehicle the 5th gen camaro, 5.0 stang and the 392 hemi vehicles are some serious bang for your buck and proper all around performance vehicles.

that all around thing is something that was missing from the one focus straight line stock vehicles ford and Gm put out before. and thus a big reason why they were never taken seriously compared to their vehicle peers. ( maybe minus the cobra)
