The blocks on the lt1 is iron, that makes the engine heavier. Where is it gonna be lighter to make up the difference?

You really don't know what your talking about do ya?
So you are trying to tell me that there are no differences other than drivetrain from a Trans Am and a Firebird? You sure about that one?

Don't know where I read it but I disagreed with someone the other way, your way saying the LT1s were heavier, and they pointed me to the information somewhere.

Hio's right. From 98-02 fireturd v6 and v8 where the same except for engine/trans of course. The trans am where differant. He never said Trans am. The firehawk he is talkin about is a formula.

From what I read online the lt1 car was about 200 lbs lighter than the ls1. Gm most of added some reinforcements, thought the 98-02 where the same body with a lighter engine.....

from what ive witnessed on the scales the LT1 and LS1 cars are roughly 50lbs apart with the LS1 cars being the heavier ones.

Necro said the Formula was a "V6 body," which is correct. Unless you say the V6 uses a "Formula body."

Yes. But you also said "Hio is right." He was contradicting Necro. Which was a misunderstanding.

Whatever the case, the ls3 is a ******* monster in comparison to the ls1, power will overcome the weight difference mod for mod imho.
Wrong. Look at the track times for both cars.

The 5th gen is definitely refined and everything but the 4th gen is the better drag racer Period!

Wrong? Header tune ls3 cars trap more than the same mod 4th gen. This has been proven. I am referring to the faster car. Ls1 is not.

This was my experiance. My LS1 camaro would MPH what my '11 runs stock with drag radial, pulley, 4.10's, lid and kooks LT's but ET at 12.5. My '11 now with LT's and no tune yet pulls way harder but track is closed so no times yet.
It'll do at or over 111 every pass.
