Haha...it's cool. At least it's still a Chevy. I just like a lower tone. That's all. I'd much rather see a Chevy TC 4banger bust out 11 seconds than a Honda any day!

The list of cars slower than the Cobalt SS around Virginia International Raceway
Mitsubishi Lancer EVO MR
Lexus IS-F
Audi S5
Honda S2000 CR
Dodge Challenger SRT-8
Lotus Elise SC
Subaru Impreza WRX STI
Dodge Caliber SRT-4
Volkswagen R32
Honda Civic Mugen Si
It's basically a detuned German FWD race car. A few years ago I was riding shotgun when at only 22psi on the highway this car dragged a 2009 M3 about 3-4 cars and it was still pulling. Shocked the **** out of me lol.

That's why I call it baby Z06.
2.0L direct-injected
* Steel crankshaft
* Forged connecting rods
* Oil-spray piston cooling
* 9.2:1 compression ratio
* Aluminum cylinder head with stainless steel intake valves and sodium-filled exhaust valves
* High-pressure engine-driven fuel pump
It's one of the few chevy cars GM Performance Division has put time into like the Z06. What's crazy is it was only 19-23k and no one bought them.

You read it right. We were all headed to the track, my dads car is 2011 5.0 with a lightweight driveshaft (stocker broke). The cobalt, at the time was stock they ran from around 60 roll, the 5.0 did take W, but it did not just drag the balt. Less than a full car on a full run. 5.0 had passenger and balt did not. No doubt that now it's been tuned it will most likely drag a 5.0 car.

This is what GXPPOWER was talking about though when he said their performance gets blown out of proportion.

ya boy must get his work done by wrong shop. I know of a few heavily modded daily driver cobalts that have really had no problems on stock motor making some power and it makes more torque then hp.

Ya no doubt that the cobalts have to be the most fun DD out there. I know with me driving the same one I keep referring to I destroyed a cammed lt1 ta from a 20 roll. I mean multiple lengths with me driving. I wish we would've got the gopro vid of that run but I'm sure we will have many more opportunities.

Cobalt = FWD poo poo NOT worthy of an SS Badge...
At least the SS FWD Monte Carlo from the same years had the LS4 V8...
I mean a 4 banger with an SS badge really...
'Nuff ranting from me

There are too many reasons that the race could have gone that way to bother speculating on. I don't doubt that the race went like you say, but it's not going to be the norm by a long shot.
