I said basically stock..plus you can hear some one spins something tells me was the 5.0. And the tune can be as worthless as a shift **** depending on what tune it is.

Not sure what tunes the ones on the magazines are getting but they must have some steroids.

:I when I was bolt-on. next time we raced I beat him then after he got tune/cai because of me starting in first and him in second due to gearing so I jumped out and he didnt catch up in time before I shut down at the end of 4th, and now I pull him, These 5.0s are amazing cars especially with good drivers it's always fun racing this specific one since we're friends and we share some smokes after each race

For once, give the OP props dude. Something is seriously wrong with you.
Let me paint the picture for you....

Imagine back in 1998 when the fbods got the "almighty LS1",lol, lets say a 1983 Mustang puts 4 cars on it with just 1 cam and bolt ons. How would you respond then????

You get it now? Jesus ****** christ you're dense.
As a fellow enthusiast i respect your car. But pull that donkey dick cam out of your *** and show some appreciation and respect regardless of the brand.

Are you really this stupid? First you can get a new 5.0 for 26k. And a used one for about 23k. Second driver plays a roll with the Roush vs you. Untuned or not your bolt on car just leveled the playing field. A Roush stage 2 is a stock 5.0 that has some badges and heavy with its leather. Not even close to say a base model. The open makes just as much if not more power then the one he raced. He should beat a tuned 5.0. I mean after all all cam/bolt on ls1's run 10s.

I gave him props in first page. But he should win. That is the point. He raced a stock car with a tune. Its been proven cold airs are a waste on these cars.

OK excuse my 4k difference in price. My car is no 400hp. Yea his car is heavier. I know the RS2 is a decal kit. But better tires and suspension correct? My car was well under 10k with 41k on the odometer. A cam bolt on car in the 10s? Maybe with heads and gears. I'm on stock 323 gears also. Be a dick if you want, but you can't deny my logic...13 year old bolt on car beating a brand new 26k (as you put it) car.

Weeble you should run Ohioborn to settle this...lol, ok maybe not. But you both have valid points. An MS3 cam is a good size cam and i wouldnt consider that a bolt on, lol.
BUT I'm still impressed with the LS1 15 years later with just a cam and bolt ons it still handles business and with ease in this video.

Should have known you would be back in in here swinging on them nuts.... You must have ran into cars not set up right at all if you were pulling cammed ls1's.... A cammed ls1 should run 11's@115+. If you won you were beating the driver or a poorly built car. Not saying there aren't plenty of each that are built poorly out there. My car for instance runs low 12's@110+ in a bolt-on auto. Hoping to run an even lower 12 maybe 11 with bolt-ons this next time back to the track. Last time I was running 12.5@110 with a 1.98 60ft and I'm putting on some nt05r's on for the next time back I should see 1.7 60ft's or better. This is being done in 2000ft d/a btw

My bolt on car trapped 118-119 in middle summer with a dA of 3600+. Ran best of 11.4@121 with some cooler weather with day of 1500. I ran low 12@114 with nothing but tire in day of 250.

That car is gone now. I have a auto now. Boss intake and SC are only mods. With the tranny still needing tuned it went 11.30@128.9. I now have the tranny tuned right. Shifting at 7400 instead of 6850. Still stock tranny ie no stall, stock suspension and 18" rims. No weight reduction at all. Full leather shaker 500 sterile. Oh and I still have less then 35k wrapped up in the car.

The stage 2 is ground effects and basically a road racing suspension. No more power. With heavier rims. Either 20" chrome or 18" chrome. And still a shitty tire. Also with 3.31 gears to 3.55 gears.

And yes if you look you can get a new 5.0 for 26k.

And with your logic a new Z06 should beat my buddies 800whp evolution since the vette is new right.

They are on here in my track thread. Even how I beat a cam GS with a shot and beat/lost to a 2010 SS at the track and street. SS makes 660whp3.73s. Ran 12.6@128. I won at track. On way home we ran from 45-50 and up to 125 was dead even. By 140 he had about a car and half on me. Now my tranny is shifting 600rpms higher. His car is in shop getting a lsx 427 stroker with more boost. He is looking for 750-800whp.

What in sam hell is goin on around here?

Why do we brag about how cheap our car or mods are?

My cars twnety years old and with 80k miles i only paid 4k for it and i found the complete supercharger in the junkyard for 600 bucks and then with install and tuneing im only 7500 into the car and it went 11.2 at 126 mph so that makes it the best and wayyyyyy better than a 75k car that runs 11s at 125 mph...

Just sayin. Why do we brag about this?

Ohio thats impressive 118-119 mph with just bolt ons? Not many cammed ls1s hitting those numbers. They need 440 rwhp to hit that and just bolt ons and a cam equals a very tall order..

But that wasnt your car and you wernt there to dyno pre tune and intake and then after tune/intake to say if that partucular car made more power.

Bottom line is the stang got waxed. Modded vs modded and both knew the risk and there was a fatality.

Let the horses bones rest in peace
