Oh-******'-kay. My dad's 71 Nova did 11's too with just headers...I've heard all the old time legends that get more embelished as the years go on.

I am not saying you're full of ****, but c'mon man, 1.5 60ft times? Stock suspension? Was it a H/C car with weight reduction? If yes, then I completely take back my smartass comments.

You should take them back, you dont know **** about how an oldsmobile runs! They 60 ft like hell but fall off on the top end... 1970 cutlass, no wieght reduction, stock suspension on 30x10.5" slicks. I had a stock short block 455, 30 over with 10.1 compression, solid lifter 242/250 cam and edelbrock heads making about 530hp but a **** load of torque. Mid 11s with 1.6-1.5 60s at only 112-113mph... my car was never even finished, could have gone low 11s easy with some suspension and better fuel systeme. I had some good vids of my car but lost them with my computer crash, but I do have a few on youtube.

Only in near stock form of course. I guess a lot of younger folks don't know what happens to a old school big block when you put on a nice set of heads with a big solid roller cam in them. They'll kiss most LSx motors goodbye.

sweetC5- love that Olds

Yea I know what happens.....broken valve springs, solid rollers don't hold up for **** on the street, broken snouts on starters. That old **** will not keep up with the new stuff and have the streetability and reliability period. Now before you get your panties all bunched up, I am not talking about race ****.......then it's all pretty much junk.

There are pics of my car in the 67-02 section, in the second gen thread. I have some more pics and a sound clip on my computer, but the internet in our tents is down right now. I will try to get them uploaded if I can later tonight. Here's the link for pics

You have no idea lmao! Street manners aren't that bad, but the gas mileage really sucks! I think I got about 6mpg while I was running around in it, but that was quite a bit of playing too lol.

I had a solid lifter, not roller and never broke a spring. Other then that, your pretty much right... they take allot of up keep and street manners in that car was not very good. BUT old school big block torque is just nothing a small lsx is going to make, thats why they kick *** off the line with next to nothing the old **** just cant hang on the top end without allot of work though. I miss the old ****, but I love this new **** too!
