Good kills.

Seeing someone so excited over there stock ls1 brings a joyful tear to my eye..

I went front a 220 rwhp supercharged v6 98 camaro to a 300 rwhp 2004 vette..when you go from a 14.9 car tp a 13.5 car it is quite the change

Im not saying it isnt fun raping slow cars. It is!

but that doesnt mean its "soo fast" its a typical stock LS1. They run great, but put it up another car of equal hp / tq / weight and then you have a race.

i think when you go from something slow, to something decently fast and your used to getting beat by those cars all the time you think your new car is the fastest thing out there. i know i did when i got my t/a. no point in being a dick to the kid cause he hasnt had his *** handed to him yet, give it time

I went from my 85 Z (LG4) to my 99. I almost cried when I layed on it for the first time. It's a whole new world of fun going from 150 hp (new in 85) to 300. Enjoy your car man and find something worth running and post it up. Ls2 Gto's are fun or an M3.

Welcome to the site. Good runs man. Enjoy your car, mod it, make it faster and step up the competition.

Don't let some of these guys get to you. Everyone has to start somewhere and they were all just as happy when they got their 1st kills in their new cars.

This site is full of good information and people, just happens that only a few showed up in this thread.

Only pussies go from a roll. I'll take that bet tho. After I take your money you can go trade in that pile and go home with a Mustang.

When can I expect you to show up? You sure you don't want to run at the track?

Nice job OP. Notice the guys giving him crap are in slow cars. Ignore them OP.

I have gotten into some races this year with a stock Trans Am belonging to Fordgirlgonebad. Was a lot of fun.

Good luck with your car in the future!

So is that why you want to race someone who is just getting used to their car....? Stock ls1 traps high enough that in a street race (yes...from a roll - obviously since you have tires and gears) you would have a good run on your hands. Why does that bother you?

--Good luck Op with your car and welcome to the site as a new fbody owner. I see you've met the "welcoming committee" lol. Don't sweat it, stock ls1 will still put a LOT of higher dollar cars in their place, and some modded/cut up **** too! Once you start with your modding you will likely want a small cam down the road (or a bigger one ). I agree with one of the above posts, save the dyno tune for that. With $1500 you can change that into a whole other animal, especially if you do your own work! Lid, ram air (chris1313 or free ram air mod), and full exhaust with some decent tires will be a good start. Port your throttle body too, that along with the ls6 intake (which you already have) will help out.

Start saving for a better rear end now, and for a clutch, and for last minute breakage (because things break when you're racing from time to time-and you don't want to be stuck taking a cab everywhere).

Ricer roll, crescent roll, honors roll....whatever. Bottom line is that I don't recall anyone saying a stock ls1 could take a modded Mach one (with a tire and gears) from a dig...I think the traps indicate the format of race on the street. Maybe we could find you a nice ls1 m6 with 4.10s, et streets, and a few exhaust pieces to run you then...? Why would a stock ls1 on stock streets run you on your tire and gears in the first place? You're trapping equal to or less than stock ls1 traps in that Mach, and that adds up real fast from a roll. If you aren't into rolls, you should be looking for cars that are setup like yours to run imo...

Quick Reply: how is a stock ls1 so fast? a few of my kills so far
