Awesome. I got a buddy who's dad's got a Dodge diesel truck. Not sure what he said it was exactly, but it's stock and he says he smoked an LS1 car with it. I wanted to run him, but he never drives it any more.

that's the way to go, but don't forget they are heavy trucks. mine has EFI and runs pretty good and really has no troubles against stock LS motors (so far), but it's still only a high 12 sec vehicle.
look at my sig, those are some fairly serious power #s (except for in the real diesel world) and I still am barely faster than many stock cars.

You get my vote for coolest diesel guy. Too many think that they have a racecar because they make 700 tq and saw an 11 second diesel on YouTube once.

Yeah the 5.3L 2WD Reg cabs with a low rear gear move really well for a stock pickup.
Too bad Chevy doesn't put the 6.2L in the regular cabs. There's no question i'd drop the extra $$ for the 400hp 6.2L.
Yeah he tows a 17,000lb 5th wheel Toy Hauler with his. Serious weight for a 3/4 Ton.
That's still a lot faster than stock. Mine is only a very high 14 second truck stock.

Yeah when i was truck shopping i could either buy a brand new 5.3L or an 06-07 Duramax with 100K miles for the same $$. I don't tow over 6K so the diesel made no sense for my needs.
Maybe someday i'll have a need for an oil burner, but not any time soon.
