I've see some bolt-on 911's with uprgraded turbos make in the 590-600ish range. Im sure If it were one at that power level, it would give a stock ZR1 a fit. No denying they can be fast but **** they are expensive. If its really a ZR1, full exhast, pulley, and a tune and that run would have been far worse the other way around......

Well the 911 has been barking up my tree for 2 weeks now to run. Been avoiding him since my tune was off and I had major belt slippage (which I just recently fixed -- thank god).

Also if that Turbo S is tuned the ZR1 would have some serious issues running it.

One thing you have to understand is a 911 turbo can consistently Do high 10's in the 1/4 compared to the ZR1 which needs a good driver. There is a lot more driver involvement with the ZR1 which can lead to failure especially when going against cars that have precise shifts like the 911 and the GT-R.

i have to agree with everything said above...i believe that 911 turbo-s was modded...it ran a 10.7@128.9 according to ROAD & TRACK...and a 2.6-2.8 0-60mph...yes i know were talking roll racing here, but that 911 is incredible...and kyle lammish i believe got a 10.33 out a ZR1 on DR's...the tranny and all-wheel drive attribute all the 911 has over the 'vette...
who the hell puts in a IRS for better times ????

So....
Should I even try to race the porsche in my 605rwhp SS? Or just kind of shrug him off until my new 8 rib conversion and smaller pulley get here?

I think you missed my point. I was talking in terms of fastest 1/4 mile times for both cars, not "shitty driver in Corvette vs. AWD car with launch control". Point is, you put a good driver behind the wheel of both and the ZR1 takes the cake by about .2/4-6 mph.
Don't get me wrong, the 911 Turbo S is a monster. I would love to own one one day after I buy my first ZR1. lol

The other thing is just because 2 or 3 people have dipped into the 10's with the ZR1 in negative DA doesn't mean everyone will or can dip into the 10's.

That's a bad strategy. If you run too low, he has a boost up (can't remember the exact name for it) option which basically bumps the torque to 500 for 10 seconds at the switch of a button. If you run him too low he will pull very hard and especially if you lose boost, traction, or shift a tad too slow. Remember you're going against AWD, TT, and twin clutch transmission. If I were you I would run from a 60 roll and let the power do the talking.

I knew this was going to turn into you discrediting the ALMIGHTY ZR1 somehow, that's why I was hesitant to make my first comment. LOL
In any event, doesn't matter how many people have gotten into the 10's bone-stock. Fact is, they have gone faster than an AWD, Launch Control-equipped 911 Turbo S PDK with the traditional rear-wheel drive layout. Sort of like your C5 but better. Nothing more to be said really.

I'm not picking at the ZR1. Let's leave it at that.

Well if you run him and its close or u win. Then you know your dyno numbers are accurate. If you get dragged, then the dyno is off. Lol
No reason a 600+rwhp 5th Gen shouldnt be trapping in the 128mph range...

HITMAN & LT/LS GUY both have it right...very hard to run consistently with a ZR1 or Z06...lot of props to those that did...the TURBO-S & GTR are basically driving themselves...me , i would even things up...run slicks on the ZR1...even DR's...takes a lot of talent to run with a twin clutch twin turbo awd...again, i still believe that the turbo-s was modded...in the beginning of the video the ZR1 was ahead and then the 911 pulled past him and seemed to me to keep on pulling ????....from a ZR1 ????...and that 911 sounded pretty loud....overall i would take a ZR1 anyday...hell i'd take a grand sport over that 911...lolol..
