I never did find the name "Superbowl of street racing" accurate since it's just a bunch of people roll racing on the highway. A street racing superbowl would be more like one road blocked off, a flagman, no times, no tree, from a dig.. etc. Even though something like that as big and as popular as tx2k would never happen. That's just my biased opinion though, since I don't consider roll racing actual racing. Hence the sig quote..

Digging on the street is retarded. You want a dig take it to the track.

I respectfully disagree, that Pump Juice stuff does wonders...and a dig race takes into consideration all aspects of racing and not just who has more horsepower.

I agree...ive hooked on a well prepped street better than a lot of tracks ive been to. Only downside. No EMTs waiting if something were to happen...

In Houston now for court tomorrow. On way here passed a bunch cars being trailered and some driven. Ones driven was a couple vettes paired with a couple GT500s and a GTR. One black yellow vette..others was enclosed trailers.

I dont understand why its held in a large city like houston. I mean all thats really needed is somewhere with a nice open interstate, few bars, few convenience stores, hotels, and some food spots. Im sure there are a bunch of low key places that would fit the bill in texas thus giving the event a MUCH greater chance of survival...
I must say that i agree with you .It became way too publicized was better when this event was truly under ground. But it was a lot of fun on the way back home after the event, going through Mexico! Got to play a little bit. but kept it cool sooo many cops....

I do burnouts in church parking lots each Sunday at noon, drift through school lots at 3:00pm, and test my launch skills in Walmart parking lots each Saturday at 7:00pm. Not all Ford owners are dumb, there are some out that are responsible like me.

what about the possibility of another car coming through? or someone getting too close to the racers? or someone screaming through where you're racing....as in the video from florida in another thread? or if/when you get caught, and your car impounded?

there's a LOT of downsides to running on the street.

From the sounds of it, the audience wanted that burnout, and more. They were pissed off at the cops, not the idiot.

Thanks a lot Ford guys
Do ya suppose the several hundred yelling "bull ****" are ALL "Ford guys" or what?

I think maybe you're just jealous that you couldn't do such a burnout with your hotrod!
