You say that like it would be a total blowout... I'm willing to bet that these two cars stock are within a car or so of each other with great drivers.
Well whether it's a shitty manifold or not, that would defeat the purpose of remaining mostly stock for the race. I'm sure it does pick up decent power, but we wanted to show how an intake only goat ran!
And the only advantage the 5.0 has is weight and gear (with 3.73's). Nothing about the engine "stock" is any better than an LS2. The 5.0 makes 12 more HP and the GTO makes 10 more lbs ft torque. So to me, it looks like a very close matchup other than the porkier weight of the goat.

Yea no prob man. No doubt the LS2 is held back with the intake manifold. I have heard of guys picking up good power from just a ported LS2 manifold and ported TB.

It has been rebuilt to stock, converted to wet sump and the reluctor wheel changed to 24 tooth. I got it in pieces and didn't know the miles on it. It's all together and just waitin for me to swap them. The most I may change down the road would be a stage 2 GM cam in it.

Yea it is a real nice piece. Very curious to see what the car puts down with the intake untuned as opposed to tuned!

I have video confrimation of me running with a h/c/i gto in a 298whp mach. So that must mean I am a good run with all h/c/i gtos lol what more is really needed. Seriously tho we are talking about a 12.2-12.5 @ ~114 vs 12.7-13.0 @ ~110 (best avgs) not a drivers race at all stock for stock.

Anything can happen on the street or strip. Drivers make it all go down
