Actually in 1987 there was no ttype-it was called t and the GN motor/trans combo could be had in any Regal trim(even chromed out custom limited models). I have seen column shifted 87 Regals with the turbo motor combo. The dead giveaway is the hood to spot the real thing if it came from the factory as a turbo car..
There were even black turbo regals that WERE NOT Grand Nationals.
87 had a tad more power due to the tune-both the 86-87s cars were underated.

I saw a clean GN in town yesterday. They are pretty rare around here so I just sat at the light and stared at it, lol.

Side question. Is there any difference between a grand national and a regal t-type?

Stock means stock. Not stock with modifications, because then it's not stock. "Yeah it's stock with a big turbo, a donkey-dick cam, Jesus strapped to the engine block, and a damn jet engine. But other than that it's stock!"
My bad I dont actualyl know why i wrote that, i think I was ghonna write what they ran bone stock(high 13s) and then what they run with those mods and got messed up lol

Wow, the vid of the GN from a low roll when it hooked up was impressive as hell. It shot out like it was on a slingshot.

that right there!. its misleading lke the supra is actually hanging but thats not the case. the GN is spinning his tires and fish tailing. then it hook and Bam he leaves the supra.

no replacement for displacement is 99.9% true. the 1% is the turbo
3.8L L36. didnt the turbo trans am use the same setup also? those engines seem to make LOTS of tq for there size.

LC2 was the GN and TTA motor.

L36 was a later model N/A 3800.
