Yep original LS6 never restored. Has a few chips of paint out of the white SS stripes and the chrome trim is alittle pitted in areas. Its developing a rust spot behind the right rear tire under the car, from my dad who used to drive it every day year round even in the snow. Best part is I got the car free from him. You can bring your bottle ill bring the torque.

Well, I think that even with all that power and torque, the Chevelle only managed like 13's stock... How much do they weigh?

Nice Kill!!!

Yes but what most of you guys fail to remember is that is on stock rubber on stock sized tires. My rims are much wider and have better tires. Which are great for big clutch dumps.

Yep, I'll be shocked if you lose. I guess it has to happen eventually, but you've been on a lucky streak for a while now......

Its actually a LS-6. Which was a package for the 70 Chevelle SS. It included a 454ci iron block and heads motor with 11.1 compression with solid roller making 450 hp and 500 ft tq. Avaliable with a TH400 or a 4 speed manual with Hurst shifter. And came from the factory with a 12 bolt rear end.

With only headers and tires you're gonna get walked all over (especially up top) if he sprays... He ran 12.3 with a 2.4 60'. We're talking about an easy 11 second car with a decent 60'. It would definitely be a fun race to watch, though.

Ok... gotcha. Thanks. I knew about the SS with the 454, but didn't know there was a special package for it. Is it only the LS-6 that had the 454, or was all the SS's, just the LS-6 had some other stuff, like compression and stuff? Sorry for my old school muscle ingnorance...

in 1970 there were two SS models a 396ci which was I believe called the LS-5 and the 454ci which was the LS-6. Im not to familar with the 396 SS so im just trying to pull this stuff from memory. Plus the LS-6 came with disc brakes in the front, not bad for 1970.
