And assuming just because the guy claims 340, its fake cause to hit 340 on the dyno is less than likely? Any car can make w/e it makes.

Coming from someone who has played with all motor honda's for a couple years, ill call Bullshit on the power output OP very UNLIKELY.
No, no, no. You're reading too deeply into it. Any car can make 340 hp. True. It was just funny, because 340hp is such a rare one to hear. Let alone from a honda. Possible? Yes. 340 crank is very possible on a Honda. Is it likely for this guy. Nah. Not even the slightest bit. Unless you see a tube frame chassis, I wouldn't think twice about it having that much power.

It's not really rare to hear if your aware on what all motor honda's can or cant do. What are you talking about? What does a tube chassis frame have anything to do with the power output of a motor? There are several "street class" civic's making mid 3's running in the 10s with a completely stock gutted and caged shell. The tube chassis cars are making 4's on motor. WHP too.

If it's a honda claiming 340hp. I'd more then likely expect to see it in a tube frame chassis or like you said a caged, gutted, all out drag car. Not some street car is what I was basically getting at. I'm not at all doubting a Honda motor has the potential. I know they do, and I know they have made these numbers. But, from someone driving a street driven H22 prelude? Ha.

OP, I HIGHLY doubt that car is making 340. With cams intake and other bolt ons, maybe 260, maybe. I haven't seen a lot of high hp NA h22 builds though, but I think you'll take him no questions asked.

Yeah def not daily drivable or atleast tolerable to be street driven, but there are cars making that power but there simply made to go down the 1/4.
My buddy used to daily drive his H2B EG that car had EVERYTHING out of the interior besides a dash, 2 front seats and door panels lol. He's nuts.

Yeah would need ALOT more than just cams and stock bottom end to make 260 especially through the stock H-series trans. Buddy of mine is making 25xwhp through a b-series tranny (h2b) and skunk2 pro 1 cams and some minor head work, bolt ons and E85.

Naturally aspirated? Maybe he said 240 and you heard him wrong?? Otherwise, that was a helluva happy dyno or theres a hidden 100 shot or something. No way its a casual streetcar/DD making 340 all motor.

I can see 320 ***** out with a k-series too.( Finding unfound HP, N/A for these cars is like getting graced by the gods) My buddy made 290 with stock sleeves, stock stroke, and stock head port with a/c! k24 Car which is his daily. Usually the stock stroke gets maxed out around 320ish and that's when its time for a stroker setup which is risky to daily and bigger cams, like single lobes ("vtec killers) which is just untolerable to daily.

you'll be VERY hard pressed to see any H series motor making north of 275whp and be streetable...

most high compression builds with high flowing heads and premium parts on a great tune make 250ish.

not to mention stock cubic inch H22 will make less than 175wtq.

and its in a car that weights a TON (in the honda community).

Yeah lol i noticed that while i was typing, you get to know alot of different people through the local forums and through friends. I used to always be out at the meets here which is like 4 times a week so yeah. Being that ive been into em since like sophomore year in high school, the list of people you meet and hang with gets pretty big.

Damn! 290 in a DD, I bet thats a fun little ride, what car is it in? Integra? Whats the absolute most youve seen anywhere from a N/A S2000 (F20/F22) and what did it run in the 1/4?

If you take your sweet *** time installing and running everything, it will take someone tearing your car apart several hours to find the nitrous...

Take the 340 to heart, add your own 100 hp of insurance and go race for some cash.

I'd stay away. I ran an H22 Accord with my full bolt on T/A And he pulled HARD on me. 40-140 roll and I felt like I was standing still.

Yeah its def fun especially when the turbo civics and the v8 cars get mad or over think "no way that civic was on motor". He ran a charger on a 100 shot and pulled it.

He's parting it out to go on boost though.

Prelude making 340whp all motor? Not likely. People who make that much power out of the h series usually put them in lighter cars and are mostly track. It will need ITBs and it's pretty hard to daily with those.

a) i lol'd that the OP feared a kid in a 2.2l accord to begin with

b) there is too much honda tech in this thread, and there are too many honda videos in this thread

c) never seen a car put 340 to the tires. heard of 338.x, 339.x, seen 341.x, but never 340 on the dot, and i think thats what dude is saying. highly unlikely to see 340 on the dot, which is what the kid claimed to the OP

d) no matter how fast, quick, strong, or however else you quantify how well performing a honda is, at the end of the day, its still a goofy looking, gay sounding HONDA...

seems like you guys are over-analyzing the 340HP remark. Maybe but highly unlikely he dynoed a 338 and just rounded up to 340 when someone asks him. I don't believe he has 340 or 338 or even north of 300HP but when I had my old project dynoed at 223 RWHP I just said 225 to round up. What's a couple of HP?? It could be the difference of fresh oil or the temperature outside.

Sure would like to hear the results of this. But I'll bet when OP takes him up on it, his buddy will back out.

OP will destroy the Prelude, if the race ever happens. Then after, its going to be the excuses fest for the Honda kid.

The OP also doesn't mention if the Honda has a reputation as a V8 killer. A 340 horse N/A front wheel drive Honda would have a huge rep in the local street scene and would be putting away cars every night. If nobody local has heard of this kid or the badass honda chances are it's BS and doesn't exist.
