The LS2 is a good motor, and can run good. The LS2 intake is about the worst intake they could have put on it. There was a dyno on a 6.0 truck done where it shows just how crappy the LS2 intake is: http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthr...ls2+intake+ls1
It's a stout motor like mentioned, and wakes up well with mods IMO and still puts out about 40-45 more to the wheels then the ls1.

i'm not over impressed with the ls2. i think it is because of the intake. having the increased bore, compression, and 243 head should make more power than they do.
actually, it's probably just the car they are in. the ls2 vettes don't seem to be such turds. although, i have seen some ls2 swapped 4th gens that really weren't much faster than an ls1. def not worth the difference in price unless that 4" bore is getting used.

Good races.
Not sure why people look at the LS2's as a disappointment compared to LS1's. 50 more hp with a few changes seems pretty good to me. I'm assuming all these same people would buy an LS1 GTO over the disappointment that is the LS2
I can set you guys up with a cold air only LS2 vette...

i am going strictly by personal experience. i have ran a handful of ls2 goats, and 1 ls2 vette. none of which impressed me. apparently the intakes are complete junk, which i had a hunch about anyway. i would not/will not buy a gto, so that argument is null. however, if i was forced to choose, i would obviously opt for the ls2. 4" bore please and thank you.
