GTR vs ZL1

I would actually like to see a ZL1 with just a tune, to see how much it responds to that.. The car is a pig and it is tuned to road race more than drag race. Sucks, GM went with that decision but oh well, mod and tune that thing and then see how it wakes up, if any. It should make a big difference, IMO.

they respond huge to mods. but stock they're slow.

I've seen some 530+ rwhp CTS-V's running high 12's/low 13's with terrible trap speeds. I'm not saying that the V's aren't impressive or that the ZL1's aren't unimpressive in stock form, but people seem to look for the good running V's and the poorly running ZL1's.

How commonly are they only trapping 112?

Now I'm curious to know if my bolt on clowbra can take one.

Unlike you, I do realize that this is just a bad run for the ZL1 though and man enough to admit that a properly driven ZL1 would probably be a full second faster and trap about 5mph higher. I can give respect to other cars reagrdless of make...could you?

Thank you. If people honestly think this is even a reasonable attempt at a quarter mile from the ZL1 they are mistaken. If this were the case, "bone stock" LS1 fbodies would be raping ZL1's. Base GT's with an H-pipe would be putting bus lengths on them. That's just not the case. Once everyone found out it was slower than the 2013 GT500, the cars "average" ET and MPH has been dropping by the day.

Pretty soon, these cars will be low 13 second cars and mid 12 second cars with a pro driver in negative DA.

I friend of mine got the first (and only) ZL1 in our area a few weeks ago. A trip to the track in what will more than likely be well over 3000 DA is coming up in the next week or two. I will let you know how it runs. It's an Auto BTW.

they have ran low 12 passes including a 12.02. but it's the trap speed that's lacking. 117 is the highest i've seen.

I'm sure they SHOULD NOT for any reason be trapping 112 unless they are running up in the mountains, BUT 116-117 mph traps are not in any way impressive. It's a heavy pig with 500hp... The z06 makes about the same power and weighs 1,000 lbs less

Milan dragway the ZL1 both auto and manual have run 11's stock. High 11's but still 11's.

Respect? Don't take the internet so seriously, we're just busting *****. **** I drive a mullet mobile from the 80's that ran 15's stock!

BTW, I agree, I was expecting the ZL1 to be significantly faster than the CTSV's

Well the ZL1 is alot faster then the cts-v due to the third gen mag shocks on it, to the tune of 20 sec at the ring or something.

in a straight line no it isnt much quicker.

tune and intake trapped 121. There is one on C5. I think its a shop car. That is huge, 115/116 to 121.

As said don't trap 131 stock. Seen one run 11.37@122 all day.
