i lost to a 90 talon tsi. but he was far from stock, im still basically stock.


yes thats a t3/t4....and i raced him in the SS not vette.

 

he still using the damn stock side mount intercooler??!! OMG that's amazing that he can get the power.......he's got to be heat soaking the hell out of that intercooler.

 

Actually, there are more 10 second Civics around here than you think. The car he raced sounds like Mario's car. However, Cary also owns a 10 second Civic and Trey has a low 11 second CRX or something like that. There is also 2 Talon's on the SE side that have high 10 second rides. I can't remember their names but I met them at the Gerland's meet years ago. I actually got walked in my old Z28 by one of the Talons. I know the guy in the silver and green Talon used to hang out at the Starbucks/Juice bar near the Galleria. Never under estimate the imports. Some of them are actually pretty quick.

 

I currently drive an import, but this loss is one you'd never expect. A few months back I came across one of those 89-90 turbo dodge vans. I was pretty bored on my drive home one night so I figured I would see if I could get the van to run me. The driver of the van and I both pulled forward from a light and got on it from a 5mph or so roll. Within seconds the van was putting car after car on me. By 100mph i'd say the van had close to 10 cars on me. I was totally stunned, I was completely destroyed by a MINI VAN. When I got home I did a bit of research and found out that the 2.5L turbo engines in those vans are built to withstand power levels that are amazing for a family hauler. I found a video on www.turbominivan.com of a woody turbo van running a 12.65 taking a LT1 Camaro out of the hole and showing it nothing but tail lights all the way down the track. I haven't lost to an import yet with my 2000 SS. However, both my 92 and 93 Stealth TT's (which are honestly reskinned and rebadged Mitsubishi 3000 GT's) are quicker at the track than the Camaro. If Jay ever gets me my heads this unfortunate situation will change rather quickly though.

 

Not as of yet, haha.

 

thank the dear god there aren't any fast cars up here in gville.. except for a few older guys with v8's that live actually in the next towns over.. i got a buddy with a 5xxhp lt1 supercharged 355 h/c eagle bottom end.. 12psi pulley.. thats about it.. the imports up here are slow as ****.. last year at teh import domestic shootout the fastest import went 11.90's.. but he may go 11.0 this year... there are a couple fast ones about an hour south of me in the capital, but thats really it besides ur common 18 second ricer rocket with the seat leaned back throwing his body into every shift! my truck eats them for lunch lol

 

Got spanked by an local Supra (who has the license plate V8KILLER to make it worse) and felt bad till i found out he put down like 880 horses at the wheels. Also got smoked by a mid 90's turbo RX-7.

 

Hmmm lets see. I've been beaten by a highly modded 300zx in my T/A, a V12 TT benz in my T/A, 911 TT in my Camaro.

 

You folks need to come to Miami.. I think we have more boosted Honda per-capita than anywhere esle in the world lol!

But yea I've lost to two imports recently, a built/boosted Civic and a boosted 240SX.. then again all I've got is a lid and catback so I'm not exactly 'fast' myself.

On the flipside, I've killed my number of F-bodys aslo in my Integra, go figure lol!

 

All the imports around me are jokes, so nope, never lost to an import.

 

I got beat pretty bad when I had my 97 Cobra. It was a turbo Type R. We went from a 20 roll and he passed me at 85 walking fast away, 2nd race same outcome.

I got beat by an Aston Martin and a Lambo, but that was worth it. Did a couple quick 30-70 races with 2 Ferraris...really close.

Also raced 300ZX from a light he passed me at 115....slowly but he got me. This was in the MAch.

I have spanked a few (3) STis and a couple EVOs. Haven't ran into heavy modded ones yet.

Also got beat in the Cobra by a RX7....he passed me at 80 running away.

I am lucky because I get a lot of race action in Houston.....

My worst defeats have been at the hands of LS1s.....MTI has quite a few happy customers here.

 

Yeah, I lost to a '93 RX-7 before I pullied up and a lightened and very quick 3000GT VR-4. I put it right with the RX by 4 cars later but haven't seen the Mitsu around.

Modded 550? Ive never heard of any meaningful mods for a 550 . . . what did he have done? I waxed a 575 a few months back.

I see you are in San Diego . . . let me know if your "hunting" ever takes you north about 140 miles . . . I know a 996TT that will line up with you.

****, read my recent post about my loss to a modded 240ZX(whatver they are). Killed my *** from a 60mph roll. That's the only import I've lost to, though I usually like to race from a dig or from a slow 1st gear roll. Roll racing in an A4 from around 60-80mph is not very pretty.

 

not yet....fortunatley...although i did race a supra one night but stopped real quick when we both realized there was a cop in front of us...so i dont know yet

 

I've lost to my share, I don't mind, if they have the faster car more power too them. There are quite a few mid 9sec street driven Honda's around my area. http://www.fastestfwdstreetcars.com/ This should give you an idea of whats out there. The blue CRX on the main page lives about an hr. away from me, runs 9.5x's, and has about $16k in the car I think.

I never have. Although one or two surprised me with some actual performance. Generally speaking I don't get worthy opponents messing with my vehicle. Just V6 stangs and Civics.
