Everybody always "expects" a certain outcome, but that's the fun of street racing. Some cars are driven better, some perform better, etc. Never know what your gonna get! And I'd love to meet up and get a few runs in with you at some point. Whenever your free man....preferably on a weekend.

And personally, I always wished I had 3.73's with the stock trans but an MN12 5th and 6th gear. That would have made the perfect Fbody street car setup in my opinion (unless you're running a lot of dig runs).

Go with the 3.73's. Unless you're planning on tracking the car a lot, you're gonna enjoy them better for cruising and highway runs (which is the majority of what we do around here). I ran every combination in my Z28 - 3.42's, 3.73's, 4.10's, and 4.10's with an MN12 trans - and for the type of driving we do around here, the 3.73's with the stock trans were by far my favorite. Yes, you could pickup a couple tenths at the strip with 4.10's vs the 3.73's, but unless you plan on hitting up LVD more than a few times a year, just trust me that it won't be worth it compared to the benefits of running the 3.73's on the street. Just ask SRZ which gears he put back in his Z28.

TFS 215s, a Fast 102, your cam, and 4.10s... would make a stout snappy torque monster. Would be pretty badass if you ask me. Should also step to an aluminium flywheel and ds if you dont already have one.

With 3.73's and my 27" tires, 4th topped out around 140 or a touch higher, which is plenty for racing around here. If we lived out west I'd probably like the idea of a useable 5th gear that could get me to 160+, but not in New England.

Well tire size changes things. Most guys on the street dont leave the factory 25.8 drag radial. With 3.73s, theres really not a lot of mph room for rolls which is why i like the idea of fifth being a power gear. And in our races with use and the V, i was rounding 150mph. It comes up quick in the heat of the moment lol
