Saw a great well put together 1G in Philly back in June... PTE6262, built block, built auto tranny, on a 200 shot. The 300C he is racing is a 9 second car... Like i always say... money can make anything fast.

sounds like some one is krazy... why rebuild it after it broke to the same broke stuff that just broke...

Yeah i mean its a given lol supporting mods aren't really considered bolt ons IMO. all 300awhp takes is 16g (stock EVO turbo) or a small 16g, E85 (can be done on pump too) boost controller, exhaust and tune. Is it the first gen or the 2nd gen ones?

Could easily be done on a stock long block, but would require more psi and fueling/tuning mods

To add to it i think this is a similar setup just with a stock turbo and upped boost and misc bolt ons. Local guy, again.

LOL ahahaha. well the kid has stopped talking now. after more people joined in on the fun.

the funny part was he kept insisting the G8 is a pos car but yet he paid 700 bucks for his out of a junkyard....do you see now why he makes my head hurt? lol


what was that laser's 60ft and trap speed?

My buddy got this guy to shut up. If he doesn't have the $$$$ to build a 600hp DSM, how does he expect to build a 1500hp V8? LMAO. I haven't heard from that guy since.

1G refers to the 1st gen GSX's(90-94). They came with 6bolt engines. The 7 bolt came in the 95-99, which had problems with crankwalk !
90-92.5 DSM's had '6 bolt' engines referring to how many bolts hold the flywheel to the crank. No crankwalk reputation, and a bottom end a few shops have taken to well over 600awhp and low 9's. Very strong in stock form. Then they went to a '7 bolt' setup. 95-96ish had the crankwalk reputation. They also had smaller connecting rods from 92.5 going forward. Still, people have taken them to over 550whp. 98-99 they had a revision on the split thrust bearings like the EVOs have eliminating the crankwalk problem.

To the OP, if he is in fact leaving everything else stock and it's a manual car, it'll have the "14b" turbo stock which maxes out around 32lbs/min. A friend of mine got just over 300awhp on E85 with one. Look for these numbers on the compressor cover. It'll say "TD05" along with any one of these numbers on the compressor cover.

49178-01400
49178-01410

If his car is an auto, it'll have the 13g turbo which is smaller and not going to much much air. It'll say "TD04" or "TD04HL" on the compressor cover.

If he won't pop the hood, just look for a front mount intercooler. Those never came stock on DSM's.
