Why does everyone think EVERY stroker LS car should be a 130+ mph car? Not everyone likes gutting there cars. My friends 3750 lb 408 SS traps around 127 on slicks, and the car aint slow.
Great video as always.

People tend to look at the best numbers (dyno or track) produced by a generic setup (heads/cam, cam-only, bolt-on, 408, etc) and then expect every car that can be lumped into that category to perform the same. They don't take into account the differences in each setup, just the fact that two "heads/cam" cars should perform exactly the same.

The black hardtop 408 car has a 9 inch, and fill weight. needs a new tune, that's for sure. Shane looked at it, said it could use some tweaks.
The orange is a full weight vert, with a 9 inch...how much more weight can you add? And I was informed it made 525rwhp before the AFR 225s.
240 weighs 27xx lbs and the red 96 SS weighs 2960 lbs. So some people are surprised 600-1000 lbs makes a difference? Most F-bodies around here are 31xx or lower, these 2 are just pigs.

As for the GTO/CTSV....
My car made 450 on a dynodynamics dyno.
Car is completely full weight, and had a full tank, with a passenger.....and 245 street tires.
The CTSV has a CAI and thats it to my knowledge.
My car traps 117.xx so it is what it is. Pretty much the exact outcome I expected.
....Hope this helps

I say that because i don't pull very hard on a properly driven CTS-V from a roll. People on here seem to think that any LS engine with a cam and boltons can match up to a stock 560hp CTS-V but it's simply not the case. Then all the guys saying that ANY 408 equipped car should be trapping aroudn 130mph??? Phffft, that's a bunch of bullshit.
A average 408 like mine in a average street car (ie, near full weight fbody or GTO) at a real track during normal density altitude conditions (1000-2000' DA) is a solid mid 120's car. Lower if they don't have high flowing heads or if they have a smaller cam. I personally expect my setup to hit low low 11's at around 124mph. That would be a 10 second setup with tires. Which coincidentally is exactly what a few properly setup 408s run around here.

I've noticed that having a full weight car seems to be viewed in the light that the owner has done something wrong.
I also have the feeling that a lot of the guys who think every setup should run 110% all the time, every time, forget that not everyone runs in great DA.

Oh well i guess depending on the air your right, not sure how the air is down here but a local guy trapped 123 with a TSP H/C kit. Pretty basic setup, full interior, a/c, p/s and all that. People should really stop being so close minded and lighten up these cars. there's so much weight just their for no reason at all.
