I guess the bike in the vid is an original 80s vintage VFR....

When I think of 86' Interceptors, THIS is what I think of:

I forgot all about the full faired 750 VFR of 86. But yes, they are still turds.... none of them made a true 100 rwhp... Even the NEW VFR800s dont make 100 rwhp.... They are rated at 110hp at the crank... Probably 95-98 rwhp.
thats because you are thinking of the crappy 83-85 chain driven interceptors. 86 they went to gear driven cams on the 700-750-1000cc models. Mine is the good one.

Not hating... I think the 86 750 VFR is a gorgeous bike...Damn sure the best looking one out of all of the early(and late) interceptors.... You look to have a very nice one at that....

They were pretty fast for their day....(even though an 85' Vmax would slaughter it, as would the 86' GSXR1100).... But I mean c'mon, they are 30 year old technology, what would you expect? Reality is they were low 12 sec bikes with normal riders on them... Once again...good for their day.

Being a HUGE sport bike guru, I love all vintages.... I recently sold a 1991 Team Hammer/Team Valvoline Suzuki GSXR750 road race bike that was NEVER street legal (until I got it).... I still had the original Texas Team Hammer title. It had a fully built RES racing 750 engine (oil/air cooled).....Even with all of the trick super bike stuff of the day...(it dynoed 116rwhp back in 91'), it was still a turd.... I sold it because I knew I would sink money into building a 1216 for it, so I cut it loose before dumping anymore money in it.

I already have a Turbo Hayabusa and GSXR1000 to keep running, along with the Vettes....

Teg showed me that video of your busa... youre ******* nuts haha. This bike can already get me in trouble... I couldn't imagine getting one more powerful lol.

I was looking into the 07 anniversary edition as an upgrade. I personally love the color scheme, because I stand out, and it looks sweet haha. I wouldn't like getting a ninja/gsxr/cbr/etc. cause everyone has one... no fun

Gotta remember.. Those old race bikes back then had to run stock motors.. Those were easy to get power out of by just the right jetting and pipe.. Add some fcr flatslides and ur over 100 hp. These old bikes are how I started.

I bought the bike with the mods done to it... I bought a stage 1 dynojet kit, K&n, and the 15tooth front sprocket... only to take the bike apart and see it was all done already. I assume the person did a really good job haha. I'm scared of doing the carbs. I think it's getting plenty of fuel

It's not really about just fuel.. They are a better flowing, better transitioning and of course a bigger carb. Your actually picking up more airflow then fuel. Just has to be jetted and adjusted right.. Those things made serious power on the old bikes.
