First kill in my C5
Coming home from work this morning, cruise is set on 80, chatting with Mrs Dog, we start past a 98+ TA. I'm pretty sure it was stock.
As we pass him, he hammers it. I grabbed the shifter, and promptly hit 5th. Oops. Corrected it to 3rd, reeled him in, and by 120 had about 3 cars on him. Back down to 60, he caught up and paced me. I honked it off, gave him the jump, and stood on it. Went to 120 again, but this time I had about 2 busses on him.
Slowed down, let him catch up, thumbs up all around, and home we went.
I know this C5 has CAI and exhaust, but I'm not sure what else. I need to get a real run on it and figure out what's already been done.
Judging by his post where he says he hit 5th and corrected it into 3rd, I'm going to make an educated guess and say he owns a manual.

I'll point out that I said "exhaust", not "full exhaust" and question their reading comprehension skills. And if they use incorrect grammar or spelling....
It's an M6.
I expected it to be closer too. It was a '98+ TA, so it's the same LS1. Thing is, I don't know for sure what mods have been done, other than the obvious. I know it's got a CAI. I know it's got a cat back. I have not checked (yet) to see if the MAF or throttlebody have been changed, or if the throttlebody bypass has been done. For all I know so far, it might have the LS6 intake (what are the visual differences between the LS1 and LS6 intakes?).

I'd still like to know how to visually distinguish the LS1/6 intakes.
BobDole, good point. I tend to forget that some people got the TA or Z28 with the 2.73 gears. Mostly because it makes no sense to me why you'd buy a performance car and not get performance gears.

I'm trying to remember... with the 2.73 gears, wasn't it also impossible (unmodded) to manually downshift the A4 into 1st?
And correct, unless you remove the plastic stopper, it physically restricts you from selecting first. That said, takes about 2 min to remove. Was because of noise pollution bs, forget the exact speed (40?) but they would test cars going by a set speed in the lowest select-able gear, which for a 2.73 car would be first and put it over the db limit, where with a 3.23 or 3.42 gear you couldn't downshift into first at that speed.
I did get a few runs today using Dynolicious (iPhone app) and they were at least consistent. Average was 13.8@105.5. 60' were all about 2.4 (I know...) DA is just over 7000 feet right now.
Ballpark, that ought to be about 320RWHP, correct? I don't know the driveline loss, but I am sure someone here can tell me, and thus tell me what the flywheel HP is. I'm also sure someone here can tell me what sort of HP that equates to at a more reasonable altitude (it's Colorado, not much I can do about the altitude...).
So, anybody want to speculate about what mods may have been done?
I am aware of the accuracy limits of things like Dynolicious. I'll get it on a real dyno, but not till I get the long tubes and full exhaust on.
