When my supercharged LS6 is completed, I'll be ready to play with some supercharged '03 Cobras on the same playing field. Of course, I'll be about 600 lbs lighter, and probably make 550-600 rwhp on pump gas. Should be fun, can't wait.

I have nothing but respect for the new Cobras , they are simply badass. From what i've seen on this site, we give credit where credit is due. We may bash a little rice, but thats,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,OK!

I've been beat by on 03 cobra, those things are mean. A friend of mine raced me, he has intake and exhaust only, and it dynoed at 409rwhp!...but he only pulled 2 1/2 cars on me to 100mph, but once i shift to 4th he pulls hard. Not bad considering he has about 100 extra horsepower. Next he's getting a chip and pully, and i'll have H/C headers....so we'll see how that goes, he'll probably have 470rwhp and i'll have around 415rwhp...he'll be on street tires i have nittos.

An '03 cobra is an anomoly.....Kinda like the freakishly fast GNX when it came out, and the Typhoon and Cyclone when they came out. These cars are put out by the car makers every once in a while and only a select few will have the privilege to actually own one in the future.I can rant some more, but i dont want to.03 Cobras, simply put are ******* nasty beasts ,and anybody who doesn't respect them is foolish to not do so.

And i used to own a 98 red vette ,lightly modded, and only got beat by two 03 cobra's , a 2002 anniversary ss, and a whole **** load of bikes.Every once in a while i would roll up on a notchback mustang and get walked.and trust me, anyone in the southeast region of houston can attest, i raced a lot of people.I was the vette with the loudmouth and some other **** .really ******* loud without cats.

I posted over there... they're definitely cool guys. They remind me a lot of the guys here, except that they drive different cars.

I do have respect for those guys over there. A very good website. With that said, I have raced 3 Cobras, all of them modded, and none of them beat me. One was close but none of them pulled me.

I thought the same thing when they first came out. Then I saw a couple of em at the tracks spitting out half shafts left and right.

Yep it was. The problem is is that it is fairly easy to get a ZO6 to go low 12s. Even the car mags did it. While I realize the capability of a chip/pulley/exhaust Cobra, it seems like there are a lot of folks that still have a hard time getting it down the track(or street for that matter). The ZO6 is a relative overachiever in the hands of the average Joe.

You can give yourself some credit too (in terms of skills). Don't be bashful.
But it's true what you say about car mags making good times with it.

I agree 100% with your post. I find the majority of people can't drive an '03 Cobra "properly". I've driven an '03 Z06. It was incredible. It's designed so well that it doesn't take an excellent driver to get it moving.

On a side note, the '03 Z06 that I drove was a test drive at a dealer. I was considering buying it. I took it on a local highway and cranked her up to 130mph in no time. It had 6 miles on it. I would've bought it except I didn't fit too well in it. The salesman was my boy so he let me beat on it a bit.

Do not knock a VW they ares till a very hardy German engineered car. I don't give a **** what Consumer reports says the Germans rate it higher than any other German engineered vehicle or other.

I did check out the site and have been reading some posts there. I did not see anything I did not expect and there were some compliments. However, I am interested in having a fun run vs a 03 Cobra or Mach1. I have not had any luck in my area. So, posted a response for same.

IMO: I figured they were going to rip us apart. Of all the posts that I read (10-12), only 1 or 2 were "bad". Other than that, the post was pretty "gracious".

You say that you want to run an '03 Cobra?
