VR4, scared?

Default VR4, scared?

Was taking a drive last night around town with my brother showing him my car when i see a 3000gt ahead. I thought it wouldn't be a VR4, but to my luck it was. He looked around his early 20's. I get behind him, traffic heavy. Then the right lane opened up and i pull up beside him doing about 20mph. Tossed a couple of revs, and he didn't so much as look in my direction. It looked like he had some aftermarket exhaust on it. I was hoping to get him to go for a quick run, but no such luck. Maybe he thought i wasn't a worthy opponent. Oh well, maybe next time. The funny thing is, he was beside a ricer at a stop light. They both turned seperate ways, i was about to follow the ricer because i could have probably gotten more action from him then the VR4. Later.

he probably will murder u from a take off .. GTO is AWD

how did u know it's VR4?

my .02
the vr4 was a kick *** engine *was good enought to hall around a caravan and still take lt1's* but they just couldent come up with a good platform for it. like most awd they had huge probablems with transmissions and transfer cases.
as far as witch ones better or faster... i would like to humbily suggest that sence it is such a hot topic that they are about equally matched. its all dependent on conditions. less then great driving conditions (loose gravel, rain , snow) and the awd naturally has an advantage. but for my doller if i was serrious about going fast in a streight line every time id go for the f-body. but if i wanted to do any rally cross, auto cross, or road corse id want the awd and somthing with better handiling stock.... and trust me im not pushing the scoobies. they have enough push (understeer) to them as it is

i thought AWD cars had huge understeer problems at speed unless tuned very precisely, and frontengine/rwd or midengine/rwd was preferable for track racing? honestly i'm just going on GT3 experience here for the most part... heh. i'm pretty sure that front engine/rwd and midengine/rwd have been dominating stuff like one lap and le mans series stuff... i know that WRC is all awd, but that's due to the relativly low traction on those courses, and those cars are set up mostly for drift anyway arn't they?

i'd like a similar setup to last year's onelap winner (mti 427ci z06) to play with for track racing.

the mid rear cars are horrable for unpredictible 'snap' thus charictoristic of any heavy assed rear power bias cars. you can get the back end to hang out and stay there for a while but if you give it a hair too much it will snap around on you. mind you im talking mostly drifting or driving a set up with alot of oversteer. the good thing about them is you can pritty much set the car up to be as close to 50/50 weight distrabution as you want.
with front rear the back end you can hang out all day long if you want to ... thats why most drift cars are front rear (tareno or carolla gts fast back comes to mind but im a huge initial d geek) yes the gt style races favor the mid rear or the front rear but i personally feel that there suspension is more tuneable and the complacations with awd (transfer cases and what not)
with awd yes you do have the on power understeer much like you would have with a front wheel drive car but the subaru imprezas' probablem comes from the components vertually the same suspension as the foresters. not enough caster and also a very soft rear end sway bar set up.
pritty much you can get it to hadel really well as long as you remember slow down before the turn and excellerate out of it. try to excelerate before the exit and you will find your self on the outside in a hurry.. unless of corse your playing the drift game then its a whole new ball park

dident a saturn win that one year because it used the exact same components as the wagon. so they had the wagon fallow with all the spair parts so it dident need to be weighed down?
but yeah i wouldent mind getting my hands on any 427 vette
