Dude omg "vtknight" cant stand it. Pretty much his argument is the GTR is the greatest racing platform ever built and the only way LSx's can be fast is a gutted death trap making 1500+ whp. Someone should post Mightmouses old car over there and let that add fuel to the fire. Honestly, if that ZR1 was spraying for 12 straight seconds like it said, he lost SIGNIFICANT bottle pressure (down to probably 900-950psi) unless he's using a Nano kit, which it didn't indicate. Which in turn, made less power. The cooling factor that nitrous would give a roots style blower like the Eaton would have been tremendous as well, ESPECIALLY at higher rpm and speeds would have been very beneficial for the ZR1. Should have raced him off the nitrous to see what it would look like. GTRs are fast for the little you have to do to them thats for sure. Everyones platforms have flaws...

The video said that the ZR1 had 870hp and the GTR had 890awhp. Sooooo waiiiitttttttttt the GTR actually had way less then 890awhp. More like 800awhp. Sneaky Sneaky!!!!!!! Then that would explain why the ZR1 blew the doors off the GTR. And I thought it was because of the superior aerodynamics and the massive power of the LS engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are saying the stated hp difference, 870 (ZR1) - 840 (GTR) plus the weight difference in the cars... 400lbs = a 70 hp difference.
It's like you're saying the same thing.

Anyway, here is what I'm struggling with.
2nd run from 20mph roll as per the GTR's request
both in 1st gear 3 honks (No Nitrous) and amazingly the ZR1 had traction better than GTR We Jumped half a car then 2nd gear we hit the nitrous and HELLOOOOO SPIN CITY He pulled by 3-4 cars until 150-160+mph and then Vroooooooooooom pulled him crazy fast in 5th & 6th gears he brakes at 170-180mph and were at 210+mph (over 40mph faster than him

How much more hp will it take to get one car from 150-160 to 210+ in the same time as it takes another car to go from 150-160 to 170-180?
I can see if the GTR is in 6th gear when he gets to 150 & the vette is still in 4th, then rows through 5th & 6th.... but then you have to ask yourself why was the GTR already in 6th & why would he take a race to 200 if he's in 6th at 150.

Didn't really want to say anything because it's way too funny to see butt hurt GTR guys but when the ZR1 steam rolled past it is CLEAR that the GTR hit the brakes.
Watch the street light guys. GTR loses all its momentum at once.
Still rather take this to the grave and see GTR guys cry about how it got steam rolled.

You missed most of what was actually posted by me and not communicated.
The HP figures given were 890 awhp for the GTR, and 870 RWHP for the ZR1.
What I said is - on the 20 MPH roll - where the ZR1 spun in second after hitting the spray and lost at least 4 plus cars - he came back harder than the HP figures would indicate for a 890 awhp GTR. Meaning - when 2 cars are supposed to be this close - and one loses 4 plus cars - it's REALLY hard to catch up.
This led me to believe that the GTR's numbers may in fact be fudged.
After bringing this up - the OP actually stated that the GTR's numbers were RWHP - which has a minimum loss of 5% up to 8% depending on who you listen to - which is a 40 AWHP loss (at least) - which helped make more sense of it.
I don't believe GTR's are untouchable - I know - am friends with - and have raced - many high HP vette's in my neck of the woods - cars with over 1200 whp. They are fast. Especially with slicks and the ability to heat them in a burnout before a 1/4 mile run - versus awd without that ability - GTR's struggle to get 1.5 60 foots (I believe the record is a 1.4X).
On the street - the GTR usually has the advantage unless the RWD car is well shoed. That said - high HP GTR's also spin badly when not properly tired also.
You are again correct that every platform has its strengths and weaknesses.

The GTR got steam rolled because it was the much faster car. That's it.
What's ironic here - is I have been saying that since the beginning.
I don't believe the GTR is really at 840 AWHP (and we know its not at 890 AWHP as the OP stated it was 890 RWHP when asked by me).
The hoopla began when it was stated that the two cars were very close in power - and again as it is listed in your thread as well - that the GTR was MORE powerful.
I am of the belief that HP for HP the GTR usually puts the power to the ground better than a RWD car - which I believe you also agree with.
Obviously - as I stated - high HP GTR's spin hardcore as well if they are not shoed properly - but with all things being equal - RWD cars are worse.
The Vette has a better top end then the GTR - HP for HP - which is why you guys like 60-70 rolls versus 20-40 rolls for us.
So it really depends on where the two equal cars start from. Higher MPH rolls for the Vette are better for the Vette, lower MPH rolls are usually better for the GTR. As the race in question was from a 20 roll - the GTR's forte - this also led me to believe that there was an inflated HP number being used for the GTR. Of course after losing 4+ cars - and then not only gaining but coming back like Usain Bolt - that spoke volumes about the ZR1's large power advantage.
ZR1 won the race. ZR1 was the faster car. GTR in the video was either not 840 AWHP or the ZR1 was more than 870 RWP.
That's all the sand.
