Still thinking Camaro gears? That would take the 2.92 to 3.27 auto gears, correct?
I'm gonna go with the 225 catherdral port Trick Flow heads and 90mm FAST intake from my Z28.

As far as gears, I'm gonna go with either 3.27's or 3.45's from a 5th gen Camaro.

He has some different wheels than stock. Don't know for sure. Want to say 245/45/17

They were some skinny ones, but get the job done when heated up well

Nice! Hopefully they pick up some good numbers. Nice that the parts are virtually free too for the engine lol

Yeah, I'm not looking for big gains, but if I can see 435 rwhp out of it I'll be more than happy.

The drag radials I want to get are slightly shorter than my stock tires, so that should help my gearing a little too.

Heads, intake, 3.73s, 3200 converter. Savagely strong 4 door NA grocery getter. And some sick nice wheels to boot

I feel like 3.73s would be a bit overkill on the 6l80e. I could be wrong though

heavy cars like gear. 3.73s would be ideal for all out na... maybe not if he decided to spray it again.

my rear gears are stock, along with converter, but we worked out the ideal for my car (same as OP's obviously) and the 3.73's were perfect match (thanks to a spreadsheet made by a friend, Gary who owns a 9 sec NA Z06). got me going through the traps on my DR's near redline in fourth. 3.91's were pushing it and i would have to switch to a taller DR to keep it under 7k.

I have now given up the pursuit of 10's and am going with the 3.27's. OP, with you having less power than me, the 3.91's would be absolutely perfect for you if the 1/4 is where you want to be. if it's high end 120+ running? the 3.45's. best of luck, glad your combo is getting it done!

Good to hear some real world results versus my speculation. Thanks!

You tend to surprise yourself on occasion when you aren't just talking about your own car

You shouldn't feel the need to defend yourself to everyone. With how things are lately in society, people could find a reason to bitch about winning the lottery.

People are always going to bitch about things they can't control. Why isn't the video HD? Why isn't it a daytime vid? Why is there music? Why isn't there music? Why do I have sand in my vagina?

There are a few reasons I'm staying away from 3.73's, The biggest is that I want to be able to race from 50 mph in 2nd gear, and I don't think the 3.73's would be good for that.

I don't like the idea that my 4th gear would end at 120 mph. If the car was mostly a 1/4 mile car, and I was stopping after the heads/intake then it would be perfect, but I'm not done modding yet. The nitrous will be going back on the car, it's just going to be a while until I can get the fuel system upgraded.

Also, I don't want to have traction issues on the street, which I think would be an issue with an overly steep 1st gear setup, along with a mild stall (plus spray down the road).

Price was originally an issue when the 3.73's first came out as well. I'm not sure if they have come down since, but I remember people were paying like $1700 or something outlandish for the parts.

Evan, I know you're all about gearing cars to the moon and then racing through overdrive, but it's not going to happen, so let me stop you there. I'm not opposed to hitting 5th if the race happens to drag out that long, but I'm not setting my car up with that being the intention.

Lol, I'm trying to set the car up best for the racing I do most.
