Oh yeah def. Back then honda had nothing in the U.S. From what ive seen honda's Don't need a turbo to beat a basic Gt40, alphabet cam, bolt on mustang, just needs the right swap with bolt ons.
My good friend actually owns an "aluminum gt40p heads" (Not sure wtf that meant at the time) A "nitrous" cam, gears, no a/c, no p/s, carb, electric water pump, LT's, exhaust, tubular k member, big and littles, kirkley seats, and a buncha stuff and the car pulled a fender on a bolt on pump gas srt4 from a 20 roll, srt4 spun like crazy and mustang let go top of 4t h
His car is the first real domestic i rode in that made me want a RWD v8 car.

If anyone wants one, more power to 'em, I couldn't care less. Just agreeing I would prefer a fox body over a c4 Corvette (but I would prefer a clean 3rd gen Camaro over either).
As far as my car, it's what I want and that's the only reason I have it (slotted mags and all), but I would bet money you would be hard pressed to find a c4 to park next to it that would get more attention. Even a Grand Sport or ZR1 is just another 80s looking Vette to the majority of people.

I'm calling bs on this because I had the same setup with out nitrous and. Was on street tires and I had ps an I have a buddy with an 04 srt4 that's a bolt on car from a roll I pulled a car an from a dig I pulled 3 cars so as Doppler have stated before don't diss the old stuff because it works if done right a with a good driver

Lots of Vette hate and Mustang hate in this thread....
My question is, if the 3rd Gen F Bodys were SOOOO good and SOOOO fast, how come everyone quick ******* with them in the early 90s.....?? Those cars were not that great.... I owned one back then, sunk a fortune into it... It was a turd(12.30s@115--bolt ons/blower).... I'd still get tore up by well setup stock bottom end 5.0 coupes..... I could have done MORE to it and continue to dump my retirement into it but..... I decided to stick with my 78 Trans Am for modding until the LS1 cars came out... Simple, cheap and effective.
Back in the early 90s high 11s, low 12s was pretty respectable...... And you could get a 5.0 Coupe in those ETs on motor for less then $5k in mods.....You werent getting an F Body anywhere near those ETs for that amount of money...
I'm a nostalgia freak so I like some of the 3rd gens, and I love C4s, digital dashes and 15 sec ETs and all... I REALLY love turbo buicks and will have one in the future..
The 5.0s were the best bang for the buck car you could buy in the 80s/90s to go fast on the cheap....I hate to say it but... Its true...
Most of you youngsters talking **** about them werent around back in the day when 5.0s were killing it on the streets...
