Nice runs! CTS-V suprised me tho considering its probably ~300lbs heavier than the Cobra.

Yea, they do very well for their weight. A friends V with 565rwhp did 5mph and 4ths faster in the 1/4 than my 575rwhp mustang did (figure that one out). My mustang weighed in at 3650 with 3/4 tank gas and the V tips the scale at over 4200lbs.

I'd bet that Cobra I raced is a good 500-600lbs lighter.

That V is to be respected!!! Cant believe he kept up with that Whipple. I wonder why the new ZL1's dont run like that?

Not sure, but there seems to be a lot of love for V's and a lot of hate for ZL1s. As far as I know, they are pretty damn similar..other than some cooling and tuning differences.

My only/uneducated guess is that the ZL1's heat faster and the tune pulls timing quicker/at lower temps. I'd assume the V hooks better too, but thats only a guess.

I see no reason why an auto ZL1 shouldn't run with a V, mod for mod. Pretty sure they are almost identical in the 1/4, stock. 11.9-12.1 seems to be where most of the good runs are for both cars (stock), no?

There are some V's in the 9's on stock blowers + spray and 1 or 2 in the 9's with bigger blowers and no spray. I'd like to think the ZL1 can do the same.

That is a lot of whining.

Should throw a small converter in there while you're doing some mods.

For some reason, these cars seem to run slower with converters..dont ask me why, no idea. The few who have gone with converters seem to have ended up going back to stock.

Most guys are using stock converters and simply leaving off idle or loading to ~1000-1200rpm and cutting 1.5's. Local guy (who helped convince me to buy the V) cut a 1.69 his 1st time out, while on 20" nitto 555's, lol.

Excellent runs. It definitely is funny the love for the V's and hate for ZL1's. I keep telling the fiance that I am going to get a V wagon with a 6M - such a badass car!

I'm partial to the GT500, I just like Mustangs more.

But, it's easy to see that Ford released the GT500 spinning that TVS almost to max, right from the factory. If I'm not mistaken (I very well may be), 15PSI is getting pretty close to max efficiency out of that TVS2300. Spin the ZL1's blower faster (easy fix) and it's more of the car it should have been, imo.

Oh, GM should of also manned up and put the damn 2.3L on the LSA.

It isn't you saying it, so it will likely go unnoticed
