Like its been said those colors in 93 are not Rs.

Also for reference my friend has a 00' Cobra R with just a 90mm maf and intake and it made 370rwhp. They came with 3.55 gears and a t56. Pretty impressive cars considering N/A mustangs from 94-04 are turds. Talk about one handling SOB that thing is on rails.

there was a vid of a 2000 R with nothing but intake and gears trap 120mph. But that isn't impressive to some idiot here.

Yep lol Im impressed for a naturally aspirated 5.4 in 2000. Ford did a great job with the cobra R.

Not sure if that was aimed at me, but a 2000 cobra R is pretty much a drivers race vs a terminator. Theres at least 2 different magazines that tested them both and the cobra R ran high 12s. Thats pretty much what a termi can run. Bolt on ls1 should keep up.

Im impressed by the way they handle, but that wasnt the point.

BTW, heres an article were they run a 2000 cobra R. It outran the z06, but it trapped 113.6 pretty damn impressive if an intake will give you 7mph

I think a N/A 5.4 Mach 1 could get there with bolt ons.

It wasn't aimed at anyone. And I'm sure a R could do better than high 12's, just like a stock 03 Cobra can do the same. A bolt on LS1 keeping up with a stock Mustang of the same era? What's new?

I've seen a Cobra R around my neck of the woods a couple times.......can't wait to catch him a spot to make him look like his car turned off on him

Their not very impressive for what they were or for their $50k+ price. No radio, no ac, no rear seats. Pretty much a they were a car Ford built to compete in the SCCA. I think you even had to have a SCCA license or a competitive license just to buy one. They were neat though.

Considering the time frame I seem to remember them being pretty potent and reportedly underrated by Ford.

The car was built for road racing purposes, not straight lines, kids...

Hmmm, if weight reduction...I wonder if it would run 11.00's at around 130 mph?

I doubt he would race you or care if your major weight reduction/aero enhanced/triple disc/swapped motor/faceplated car beat him if he did race you. At the end of the day he has a Cobra R and you are driving home a 1999 Camaro that rattles to death.

Crazy to think that that's all you got for 60k back then.

With a price tag of almost double of a GM car, with a full exhaust from factory, and gears, no a/c, no rear seats id hope it would out muscle a stock street car with less horses from factory.

My car don't rattle bud, the other 2 120k+ camaro's I have bought and sold seemed solid as well.

At the end of the day he's multiple busses behind wondering wtf just happened to my $55k limited production suppose to whip the world stang. The sad part is a mild bolt-on ls1 would beat it too. Free mods only will run beside it. A 1LE would be a good match on a road coarse and cost $30k less.

The tests I saw put the 1/4 @ 12.9 @ 110......super duper impressive for no ac, no rear seat, no radio. Awesome car!!!
