the issue with the gt500s was and still is... weight balance. For example. My car is 46/54 front from the factory. The 2013 gt500 is the same car now adding 300lbs to the nose. And thats with an aluminium block. Now add the weight of an iron block to it....
Last week at my buddies speed shop, there was a 770whp gt500 on the lift (built motor, tvs2300, pump gas). Basically to make the car hook, he wanted to raise the back a half inch... and add 200lbs of lead plates in the trunk. Then he could properly set the suspension. Bottom line is there is just no weight over the already too narrow tires.

I don't know about a pre 10gt500 being the equivalent to a zl1. U give me a zl1(even though I'm not a fan of the body style) and with a few basic bolt ons ill make that thing fly! Same drive train as the V and even lighter so the guys that are buying them r prolly going about setting em up wrong or *** backwards. But for the money they want for em I'd rather buy a v2 like I will be doing eventually

You are clearly ignorant as ****. AGAIN, the only reason I said that was to referrance how the boss/gt is already nose heavy and that the gt500 adds 300lbs solely to the nose. If you cant see this, youre hopeless.

But in person, nothing would be said.

People always yammering about nitrous being cheap. They throw on a $500 kit with nothing more than a wet nozzle and a WOT switch taped to their pedal - then wonder why **** goes south. Nitrous isn't exactly cheap, if you're doing it the RIGHT way. Judging from his blowtorch bottle heater and ghetto bottle bracket, I have a hard time believing the rest of his kit is exactly up to snuff.
It's no different than doing a hack job turbo setup.

Smart man
What are you talking about a Procharger not being streetable? I and most likely other use them on the street 90+ % of the time.
Exactly. It seems cheap at first but to do it right its just as expensive as forced induction. Safety features, quality kit, dedicated fuel system, right plugs (non-projected tip), great tuning, etc.
TVS is fun street.
Procharger is the only other I would get and its not as streetable.
ECS has some pretty damn impressive ****. I saw a m6 with only an ECS and meth hit like 660rwhp. no bolt ons, no cam nothing. I was about to go buy it but thought 1 thing is power 1 thing is power band.

getting a safe setup has run me right around $3k on parts alone. Its pretty much all top of the line with every safety measure possble on a dedicated fuel setup.

Haven't added it all up yet, but I'd imagine $3k sounds about right.
