This is EXACTLY why I'm afraid to do too much to my car. I want to sell it in a few years and buy a C4 ZR-1. There's really nothing like an LT5, people have those running mid 10's NA

Get a C5! You'll love it! In a couple of years C5 Z's should be even more affordable.

No "chip" in '95 and 110 traps with those mods and no weight removed, stock gears, stock rockers/pulley/water pump doesn't sound right. Also, how did you get the LT4 intake to fit the stock heads? The runners don't line up and will actually hurt more than help.
You sure aren't afraid to call EVERYONE out like it's all about catching a liar. Folks are not 'subject matter experts'. Sometimes folks are relating stories as they remember them and really dont need ******** calling them out for joining a conversation for fun.

i say that with ALL DUE RESPECT. Not really calling you an *******, but it's a trend that is out of hand.

I respect the C5, it is obviously a GREAT car and all around better than the C4. However, I've been in a C5 and it does not have the same feel as a my car. The C4 has the "cockpit" feel to it, and I like how it's old and it feels crude. I feel like it wants me to just drive the **** out of it haha. I think the only car I'd get other than mine is a ZR-1, even though there are better options. I just really want a classic C4!

I'm glad you know what I mean! The C4 just wants to be driven hard, plus it's not worth much so I'm not as worried about breaking anything

I was just talking to a buddy today who likes older cars and when we were talking about "dream garages", I said C4, C5, C6, and C7. He wondered why I didn't want a split window C2 or early C3 and I said because I feel like the C4 has a better "cockpit" feel

You can get a ZR1 C4 to trap high 100 teens without internal mods. They are so undergeared its not even funny. You can smash up a lot of stuff that thinks your are a turd 14 second car too.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. People who bash the C4 need to drive one, a true driver's car

Haha sometimes I wonder! Car is 3250 dry, race weight is usually +me (140) +girlfriend (115) +mostly full tank of gas (around 100lbs). So I'm usually racing at about 3600lbs. Stock 3.45 rear end, I love it because I still get 30mpg highway.

Oh yeah, LT5's were HEAVILY underrated from the factory. A guy on the ZR-1 registry has a copy of the dyno tests for the engine. They tested it making 405hp at 5900rpm or something like that. Then they tested it again, but must have put headers on. It made 443hp at 6600rpm. If you do a little bit of intake porting and throw headers on there with 4.10's, you have a seriously fast car. Those can crank to 8000rpm+ on stock bottom end lol a few guys are running mid 10's NA

People have LT1s running 10's NA too.

I love the LT5 as a motor, but wouldn't mod one. They are crazy expensive and their aftermarket is virtually non existent. Seen some nasty turbo ones though, they love boost...

this. i think they are awesome engines, but would not take modding one further than intake/exhaust. put a 150 on it and it'd prob go 130+.

Lingenfelter & DRM have everything you need to mod an LT5, rather it be boost or a 550+whp N/A combo you want. You have to have deep pockets to play with an LT5 though.

I'd do the same thing with a C4 as I would with a '96-'98 Cobra; intake/full exhaust, gears. And that's LT4 or ZR1.

If an LT5 I'd also port the upper plenum and injector housings. Easy 20-25whp right there.
