Has nothing to do with being a baller. Its called saving money. If you can only afford the cheaper headers, but would rather have the more expensive one... wait...save more money... make purchase when you can.

Easier said than done for most in the hobby

Hard to wait for better performance when you are a gear head

Also considering savings habits of the average American nowadays... Yeah, nonexistent

Not even about saving.. 1000.00 is a 1000.00.. Would rather spend 400.00 on the car and buy the kids new clothes.

That is your priority and obligation as a parent, so I can definitely respect that

Your legacy!

Ask all of the wives who from this hobby have had to put off the new "needed" furniture, washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc.

Yeah just a different spin on the car hobby... I make pretty good money but I have a hard time blowing it on the car. All of my modding has been on the dirt cheap while I spoil the kids with rediculous things they don't really need.

I just buy all the cheap stuff because I firmly believe you don't need to spend top dollar to get a car to perform well. My headers are coated pacesetters I bought from amazon for $270 and my cam and heads were a grand total of $1100. Bought the rear diff brand new for $620 from a LS shop owner, and bought my soon to be installed TC for $350shipped. Had circle D rebuild it for $200 more and I have a brand new TC for half the price. I am a bargain shopper for real when it comes to mods. I will pay top dollar for the best tuner though...
