Default katana 600cc

From like a 30 roll, if I raced a katana 600 bike with only free mods, cutout, and yank 3500 stall, who would win in say first to 100 and first to 120? What about from other rolls? Thanks a lot!

I doubt you would win without spraying. It is only a 600 but you need more mods to beat it.

the Katana's are always the slowest of the bikes....and you still will get killed...you will need a 150 shot to make it even close...unless the rider is completely pathetic...

you gotta remember with bikes that thay have like 1/10th the weight of your car so they don't need anywhere near as much HP.

You will RAPE the katana to 120. They are mid 12 second bikes AT BEST.

Go from a 60 roll and you'll pull on him like crazy.

Yeah... if it is anything like some of the newer 600's... you are toast...
Its just like the new ones, only with half the horsepower

katana 600's regurally run mid to high 13's at the track around here, it should be a good race.

They're slow for "sportbikes" but they'll still run mid 12's at 112+ with a good rider.

Race him from a dig. You'd be better off if you had a converter with a higher STR and some good tires.

The Katana is like a Yugo, to the rest of the sport bikes.
I saw a guy at the track that barely broke 100 in the quarter and ran in the high 13's.

You should have no trouble running him at all.
I totally agree with z98 on this.

around here most 600cc bikes run around low 13s with a skinny *** rider. Thats including the cbr 600f4, yzf r6, etc. One time i saw an older katana 600 (97-98) that ran a low 15 . Did i mention the guy weighed at least 350lbs tho??? Prolly not the best of drivers either...but it was funny to see a BIG guy on a bike getting beat my gsr.

Yes, they are air cooled, slow, turds. The slowest of the 600 bikes.

People shouldn't talk if they don't have a CLUE what they're saying.

Care to elaborate that statement? Are you talking about people thinking Katana's are as fast as the other 600's ?
If so , i agree totally.

Coming from someone who owns a bike, the Katana's are some of the slower 600's.

600cc sportbikes have a wide range of times based on rider and mods. I've seen an R6 go 11.1/124mph and a few CBRF4i's go 11.5/124. It varies. Katana's i'd say mid 12's/115. That's giving it no credit.

For those who claim it's right up there with the others, it's not. Check out Cycleforums.com or Sportbikes.net for more info.

katanas are absolutely horrible, more of a bike you purchase to learn how to ride on and be able to abuse. Slap on just a little bit of squeeze like a 100 to 150 shot, and it will be your victory

Yeah, ignorant people shouldn't pipe up if they don't know what they're talking about.

Katanas are crap. I'll rape a 600/750 katana from a stop or a roll.

But that isn't saying much.

Race him from a dig. You'd be better off if you had a converter with a higher STR and some good tires.
Yeah, autos aren't that good from a roll. If you were M6 I'd say 70 roll and you'll leave him quick.

They're air/oil cooled.

They motors they use are based on the old GSXR motors. They can be made quick/fast.Just about anything can I guess. Most people just don't bother anymore. It's much cheaper and easier to just buy a new bike and throw money at that.

There was a fella around here a few years back that was running mid 10's with one. These are very few and even farther between.

like you said lerajie... you can make anything fast, it is only if you want to put in the extra time and money, but katanas compared to other 600's can not even compete. btw, how much is a new katana compared to a f4i or r6?
