Ran into a ZL1 this afternoon

Ran into a ZL1 this afternoon I don't always post kill stories, but when I do... I make sure they're good.
Over the past couple weeks/months I've raced a bunch of people randomly, nothing too fantastic. Smoked an LS3 Camaro, bolt on LS2 GTO, new Mustang GT, Challenger 392, bolt on LS2 CTS-V, etc... etc... nothing to write home about, just a bunch of slow cars.
But today I got to race a FAST car
I was pumping gas, filling up actually
, when low and behold a brand new Red ZL1 pulls in right next to me. Naturally I needed to collect this car so I struck up a convo. I played my usual starry eyed kid routine, complimenting the car, saying how fast it must be, etc, etc. I said to the guy, "You know what would be BAD ***??? if you pull outta here and gun it! I would love to see how fast that thing is!" This guy must love when younger dudes whack off all over his car so he blushed and said sure thing.
What he didn't know was that when I got next to him after we left, I was waiting for him to make his move. What happened next can only be described as "EPIC".
So the guy hits it and takes off from like 40mph. I lay into it right after him and immediately stop the pull, I see his head literally WHIP around to look at my car. It must have really pissed him off that I was catching up because he cranked his head back forward and started changing gears with a purpose (and a grimace on his face). What was going through his mind at that time, I can only speculate. Maybe it was the fact that he realized I had been toying with him from the moment I said "Nice car!" or maybe it was the fact that a Buick Regal was walking away from his 556hp supercharged 6.2L Muscle car, I just don't know.
We can only speculate... Because after I let off around 120, ahead... he kept in it and disappeared into the distance.
So ZL1 driver, if you're out there. Good run sorry we couldn't chat afterward.
