So the only clean run was the run thats in this vid. Also some birds told me that he had upgraded turbos as well, which he didnt tell us at the beginning. Also, an inexperienced driver? in a GTR??? I know the owner personally myself, and we got the cars from the shops nearly at the same time. He even also had to chance to take it to drag strip and do runs with it, which GT500 didnt. So hitting the rev limiter in a GTR, I call that BS. Lets not forget which car is harder to drive...

Hope this helps...
You can hit the rev limiter in a GT-R. Putting the trans in "R" mode in a roll race with a turbo that makes more power than stock is an easy way to do that. I know because I did it on a few roll races myself.

It doesn't make sense to me that a car that's less aerodynamic, with a different trans setup and making about the same power is pulling up top like that. I've run a 2012 GT with a KB supercharger like that before and pulled up top by a few cars.

Its hard to keep up with you with youtube and here.

Please dont forget that gt500 have different gear ratios, rev limits, torque and many stuff that is different than a 2012 KB GT.

My bad man. I know for sure the GT500 has a longer final drive. I would think that would really be the only advantage a GT500 with equal power would have. Your car is fast as hell though and good kills!

Might want to check a Gen IV Viper curb weight again...

Can't do a cam, but ported heads are an option. Fastest bolt-on (headers, ported intake manifold, Mopar PCM) + ported heads (stock compression) Gen IV Viper I'm aware of traps in the mid 130s in the quarter.

Nope.

Mopar offers an off-road PCM that disables the rear O2 sensors and relaxes some of the other emissions stuff + adds 100 RPMs (yes, only 100) that will let you run bolt-ons all day long for the low, low price of about $1,200. The computer can compensate for all bolt-ons + ported heads, no other tuning required. It isn't optimal (still runs rich), but it works.

Not that I'm aware of...there are rumors that people are still working on hacking the rolling encryption, but nothing concrete. The only options are piggyback type systems, but they aren't cheap.

^Basically it sucks to mod Gen IV vipers. BTW you can get that pos mopar pcm for cheaper than 1200....I got mine for around 1000, still felt so owned when I hit the order button online for that thing.

I know...I can't bring myself to pull the trigger for one. Probably won't unless I get headers down the road, and with the price of those, that will be a while.

10-20K just to tune your car for performance modifications is absolutely absurd. Exactly why I have had all generation Vipers from 1992 but would never buy a Gen IV.

At this point, it is a numbers game...since they only made around 2,700-ish Gen IV Vipers from 2008-2010, there just aren't enough to recoup the R&D costs of cracking the PCMs. With the Gen V coming out and suffering from the same issue, it might be enough for someone to finally put some time and effort into cracking the rolling encryption...maybe that's just wishful thinking.

That would be nice. At that point I would seriously consider buying one and throwing a bunch of mods at it.

Great video, and some sick *** cars.

I don't care if it's the slowest car in that video, I want an opulent wagon so ******* bad.

And I want it to expel fire on the 2-3 shift.
