No way he will take you with 2wd. And a 7.3 stroker takes money to make them fast wouldn't be surprised if he has 500hp or less. Even with 4wd these trucks are not that fast. Now if it was a 6.4 powerstroke you would be in trouble.

Unless its a first year 6.4, in that case it would prolly blow the motor before it got to the end of the track. We had 3 of them and they all went through multiple motors before 50k. Cab bolts never seized up that way tho! Those 7.3's were tough but pretty guttless from the factory. And a 6.0 is only half good after egr delete, injectors often, head studs, and a aftermarket turbo lol. Get this on video!

Not true my truck was a 08 with Spartan tuner, dpf delete and egr delete. These trucks can take a 310 hp tune but any more you would need to upgrade the tranny. They can stomp most bolt on mustangs and new camaros two in boosted 4wd of course. Most 6.4s need a new hpfp to run the higher tunes since the the factory one was junk. But the 99 powerstroke was the year to have since they came with forged rods.

Good luck with the race OP. If I were you I'd take what people say with a grain of salt, especially if they really don't know a damn thing about your challenger's truck. I guess a lot of guys think a bolt on f-body is really fast in their book. Lol. As for the diesel truck, around my parts, 9 out of 10 diesel trucks that think their fast are just loud slow *** smoke-blowing turds. But its also not anything surprising to see a low 12 or an 11 sec diesel at the nearby 1/4 mile track which would make a bolt on f-body look like a Prius in the 1/8th. We here really don't have a clue if that diesel is hiding anything or not. I'd be very concerned about that $500 bet from a guy with a mustang like that.

Its a 2wd truck lol. If you get beat by a 8000lb dually that isn't even 4wd thats sad on your part. Unless he has slicks or a sticky tire he is just gonna roast the tires on that truck of the line. Been there done that.

not hardly. the 7.3 is slow as **** and needs quite the list of mods to make it fast. very reliable motor, but not strong in the power category.

with 2wd and good power, it won't hook well with a boosted launch. that and it's HEAVY!

don't bet, go race and have some fun. be safe

I know what it's like to get a heavy truck going. I've beaten my fair share of m3's, mustangs, and toss in one testarossa as well. I also have my share of losses. never know what mods people have done until you run what you brung

I've only seen one break into the high 7's in the 1/8 at countyline here in Miami. Most modded ones run in the mid to high 8's and these are rare to see. I think you should be good.

most diesels in my area are not terribly fast either. mine is not a rocket by any means, but it'll hold it's own.

it's my DD/tow rig as well (tows the real play toy)
