Default Bolt-on WS6 vs 3v GT

Had a chance encounter on the way back from the track tonight. Ran into a 3v GT, (maybe 08 or 09, had the newer looking wheels). Mods on GT unknown but I do know it was a manual. My mods are in the sig (and I had one passenger, GT did not). We catch open space and we both look over and give the nod, doing about 50mph. I drop to 3rd and give him the hit. He jumps out and pulls for a second but I begin to reel him back in. At the top of 3rd I pull half a car, and keep pulling until I shut it down just after 4th. All in all it was a couple slow cars going at it, but it was a clean run and nice to finally see some action. Unfortunately I let my buddy use my gopro so I didn't catch any footage.

I remember before the 5.0 came oot, ford guys were trying to say the 3v was as fast as an ls1.

Oh no, I should have been in 2nd for a good hit but I pulled him regardless. 2nd would have been ugly.

3V's are only marginally better than a 2V.

if you do the math, a 3v is exactly 1v better than a 2v.

If i was building a naturally aspirated max effort platform... i would actually prefer a 2V.

I wouldn't mind an N/A 2V as well, they make some pretty good power with the Trick Flow heads. Even a geared PI-swapped car would be a fun DD. Good kill OP, but not at all surprising. The 3V cars were basically right between the GT and the Mach 1.

Nice kill! Back when I had my full bolt ons, cammed and geared 04 gt, it was practically a dead nuts race with my bro in his cammed, full bolt on, and geared 06 gt. I think weight played a big factor here

Yeah I'm betting the car was stock or very near stock. Like I said it was nice to finally get some action at least. My areas been a dead zone lately except Hondas trying to race in construction zones on the highway . Hoping to run into a stockish 5.0 next

This is why I'm ignoring him. His build results are proof enough. They were so bad he wouldn't even post them.
