Default Ran across a ZL1

So I was on my way to the buy some liquor and I took a right onto the main drag and I saw I pulled out a few cars ahead of a blacked out Camaro. Needless to saw I came up to a red light and he switched lanes to get behind me. I took a look at the grill and saw ZL1. "sweet" I thought to myself as I have wanted to run one. Light turned green and i wasn't sure if he was going to play or not so I got on it slowly and then I saw his front end pick up. So I continued on my dig and I wasn't putting any ground on the ZL1 but I wasn't being reeled in either. So at the next light he comes up beside me and we exchange thumbs up. So the light turns green and we both roll into it slow again and he mashes it and pulls out a car before I follow suit. I immediately stop his pull and hang right behind him. At the 3rd red light we hit I got a much better start as the light turned green I rolled into the throttle and as soon as the clutch was fully engaged we both opened up our engines. I popped out to about half a car lead and continued to very slowly walk away. After that we gave a wave and went our separate ways. Really nice guy and a sick race with one hell of a powerful Camaro. I was amazed at how fast that car can get up and go for being heavier than hell! I should have recorded it but i didn't have my camera in the car. Great run! Respect to the ZL1..

This was in the C4 with the LTx swap. LE1.5 heads, LE2 cam, 52mm TB, T-56 swap, bolt ons, tune, 3.07 rear gears.

May be dumb question but what is the LTx you speak of? Similar to LSX, like bigger displacement crate engines based off factory block?

Good kill

A friend of mine at work let me drive his ZL1 right after he got it, they've definitely got some power.

Ah I feel your pain. I wired a pretty advanced nitrous setup on the Camaro I had before this, hated every minute of it. There were a lotta minutes. lol Good luck!

I thought it was a good run considering i have 3.07's. Feels like it takes forever to get out of 2nd gear its so long! haha I have 3.73's they just have to be installed. I wonder how I would have fared with the better gears... Either way those ZL1's are sick and very powerful. Now every time i see an SS I don't want to waste the time. haha Of course unless its modded.... haha
