Hio, Yeah, two different engine designs, one's OHV, and one is DOHC, so the larger heads for OHC make it much larger. I can post pics of import motors, too, that are bigger than both and make ~200hp.
...and to your "haven't had that happen yet", you're the guy who bitches and bitches about how you hate it when guys hide **** on their setup, come up with "If he woulda ran what I thought he was gonna run, I woulda won!!!111!", yet you call your LS6 a stock replacement (ONLY 60 more usable HP and more rpm
@ Only). How is that not downplaying the **** out of your setup when you whine about others doing it? You will do whatever it takes to try to shine a better light on any git-r-dun GM motor, set different "rules" for comparing cars (saying people can't run on "equal terms" lmao wtf? racing is racing), and get super defensive and alpha male-like when someone says otherwise.
****, Evan made a joking comment about you getting hustled when that GTR busted your *** and you got 17 kinds of butthurt when he wasn't being a dick about it at all.

It is a stock replacement........It's definitely not a swap like my termi notch is. Get over it.......sucks you can't bolt in hp like that.
Don't make excuses about the gargantuan size to hp ratio those to engines have. You need a tissue?

Actually, Ford is moving forward better than GM. Ford's 5.0 is more efficient than any NA GM engine, hell even more efficient than the LS9 when you use hio's math... So they don't really need to go with more displacement. They are using other technology to get good horsepower numbers other than just throwing more cubes at their engines.

The problem is you are comparing the NEW 5.0 with vvti to older technology. The field is about to level with the NEW LT1 engines.
The ls3 is on par or slightly more powerful than the 5.0......so I don't get the 5.0 being more efficient. The ls3 is also a more compact lighter less complex package. When heads or cams come into play it's all ls3. When more cubes come into play then then there really is no comparison at all.

No heads for the 5.0 so it's hard to make a comparison with aftermarket offerings for the ls3. As far as motors go, the 5.0 is still in it's infancy. We will see where it stacks up when it has 16 years behind it like the LS engines have.

Boss heads and RGR Heads are out there. Ill be camming mine over the winter to hope to achieve 520whp and 540whp on gas. Ill be running the stock heads. A 520whp cammed 302 mod motor sounds pretty stout to me. Maybe im wrong
