Can budget build and turbo ls be used in the same sentence?

That's like saying I built a budget yacht or budget Boeing

You should bring the V too....

No I don't. With my modest 700whp I'm going to mop every UGR and omega GTR in the United States.

Not sure what the angst against Texas is, but its the dudes from the North that have a chip on their shoulder. That said, you will find from Houston and Dallas alone there will be plenty of cars that'll mop the floor with just about anything else on the road. So, I look forward to seeing this shin dig! Good times and best of luck to ya!
No chip. Texans are just bitches who are going to get mopped by a 3rd world villager car.

It can be done, but the thing that kills the budget are all the small odds and ends. Just head studs can be 300-400 bucks iirc. Oh, can't skimp on the fuel system but even a budget complete fuel system is going to cost at least 1k if not more. Hell the injectors I'm looking at are an easy $1100 for fic2000's.

Take whatever the budget you think it's going to be and double it to get your true budget.

This is a local car that has maybe $7k into it including the cost of the car.

Junkyard LQ4, $250 4l80e craigslist find, homemade turbo kit using a 7875 turbo, stock 10 bolt with my crappy old 3.23 center section out of my old ltjuan ws6

Imagine what it'd do with a decent rear and the boost cranked up

Oh I agree it can be done on a "budget."
My point was the word budget is like the word stock.
It varies depending on the person.
I need a $2000 budget turbo build

And btw, that is a sweet build

This is true. You can always build things on a budget that work. Even though I think i'm a bit on the opposite end of the spectrum I do appreciate a good budget build. With my time being so limited with travel I get to a point where I just over build in hopes that I never have to touch it again. Hence the s60 rear and the highest level jakes 4l80e i can get. It still isn't bullet proof by any means, but when the car is down it's down for a while and I can only work on it during short weekends or if I catch a vaca. I'd love to swap in 5.3's and run the **** out of them and have a few in the garage as backup when it pops, but just don't have the time.

Yep, he has a 5.3 in the garage and another 10 bolt as backups. The 4l80e's surprisingly withstand a lot on stocker units.

Still wish I could find a clean TA roller. I'd probably do a similar route, except with a 5.3

I'll be rooting for ya, I'm just sayin' it's no joke here in the big state. Last night at a little meet here in Dallas there was 15 cars there making 800+ and @ 2K14, they'll be that many at any given hotel! Regardless, it'll be fun!
