Cobalt SS Vs CTSV - Video
#21
I … uh… I dunno.
(Looked like a CTS owner found some V-badges. I didn't see much that looked like the V. Stance seemed high, suspension jump seemed more like a loaded six unloading, with no discernible torque coming in behind it.)
Funny video tho'…

IF, however, the Cobalt is set up with just bolt-ons and maybe a tune, then I'd say the pulls were about what I'd expect to see with the CTS.
I just didn't see any signs that we were looking at a V.
No offense intended toward anyone… just my honest assessment.
I actually enjoyed the video… just the fact that it was made in DAYLIGHT, was a surprise and a pleasure.

Thats definitely a V2. Not a dressed up v6. But with that said... I find this very very VERY hard to believe.
If you did win legitly, you beat the driver, not the car, IMO

Ok… I hear ya and I'm not here to bust your *****, at least at the moment…
But on your point, I wish I had a picture of the Mustang I ran across some years back.
I'm in my service van driving along a 6 lane feeder and I see, about a 1/4 mile up the road, this WICKED looking Fox. The paint was glistening a nice dark pearl..
It slung low, had a nice rake to it, and a trim package that made it appear to be doing 150 mph as it was pulling up to the light.
SO … figuring that once that light flashed green, any chance of getting a good look at it would be over, I hustled up past the straights and got in behind this guy.
Imagine my surprise when I came to a stop and got a look at the exhaust, which was just marginally more disappointing than the weak-*** note of the uncommon FOUR CYLINDER… and NOT the 10k revving 4licker that MIGHT have risen to the level of that nasty trim package… just the sad little 4cyl, that ya just can't understand why it would even exist under the hood of a Mustang.
I felt like getting out and beating the three bucks in fuel it cost me to get around all the straights, out of him, just to lay witness to that shiny little pile of plastic.
So, I tell ya that to tell ya this: Anyone that would badge his CTS with a V, would pop for a set of calipers and a trim kit.
Not saying that he DID…
Not saying it's a fact…
I am just saying that the car did not appear >TO ME< to sit like a V and it sure as HELL didn't perform like a V.
It DID however appear >to me< to sit like a CTS and it performed like a CTS.
That's all I'm sayin'…

I defer to the owner's circle. Just offering my observation.

Hugger, you know the gearing the in Cobalts, knowing I started in 2nd gear at 30 mph and how deep I was into 4th when I let off the first race, how fast would you guess I was going? And the race only lasts ~13 seconds.

Pretty close guess, speedo had just passed 125 when I let off. And yes, these cars are cake to bang gears in. I NLS 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th all the time. I actually can't remember the last time I missed a gear during a race because it's so hard to **** up a shift. lol

^^^ Takes this ZL1 about 13 seconds to go 30-125 even with a running start past 30. Don't know where he's located or the weather conditions exactly, but he's probably not higher in altitude than me so I really don't see why my video is so unbelievable. Stock ZL1s and CTS-Vs trap 107-108 at my local track (Bandimere)

^^^ LMAO! Yeah, Bandimere is my local track. Gotta love 8000-9000ft DA during the summer. If you've been there, then you have an idea of how slow cars actually are up in this thin air.
