They didn't stroke the 5.4, all they did was remove the cylinder sleeves to gain the extra .4 ci. Little different cam profile.. slightly larger injectors, TVS.. and wala.. 2013.

zl1 runs bad for what it is i think but 5.0 needs to man up and run that thing .

Ahhhh. Yeah that's it. Was thinking of stroking 5.0 to 5.8. Don't need to. They're already badass enough. Shame on the svt team for using the same old 5.4 block for the gt500. The 5.0 is a much better platform.

Rumor is they didn't go to the Coyote style because they knew that there was a possibility that the 5.4/5.8 would be phased out with the 2015 Mustang.
