Friend of mine just bought a new 2014 GT500 and took it to the track this past weekend. There was a ZL1 running there that day also (track announcer was slobbering all over it) and a couple of the guys with us went down to where the ZL1 was pitted and matched up the ZL1 with our friend with the new GT500.

GT 500 was on 275/40 drag radials and had 3:73 gears
ZL1 I was told was stock on regular radials and automatic

Kind of expected that...that GT500 has got some trap speed behind that thing especially for a stock car

Good runs. Im going to be racing another 14 Gt500 soon. Just to either confirm or deny my last take down of one.

One of his first passes, he trapped 129 mph, car has a lot potential right from Ford.

Don't know if I would call them tiny drag radials he had on it, any kind of advantage. I've seen front skinnies that was bigger than them

The ZL1 did pretty well for being down 100rwhp and heavier.

I agree he didn't do bad. I have seen those GT500s trap 127 with nothing as well. Never seen one ET well on stock tires though

I've got a buddy that trapped 142mph in his basic bolt on 2013 GT500.

Those things move out....yes I'm jealous. lol

ZL1 ran .6 slower

the zl1 won the first run where the gt500 ran 12.01. so the zl1 is running strong actually. it was no slaughter but more like It should be.

Gt500 missed 2nd gear that race and he heard it from the peanut gallery LoL

Gt500 ran a best of 11.4 that day just like any manual car seat time is the number one mod !

The auto tranny on the ZL1 in the vid is the only reason he was close at all.

I've got other buddies with a ZL1s. They are both highly modded, the auto more so than the stick.

The auto traps ~141mph and the stick car traps ~125mph.
