Default BMW-M3 easily beat me

we started on a stroll on the freeway and I floored it and hit it to the redline. I have headers and the car was revving loud til the redline. But the M3 easily catches up to me from behind and passes me. We did this 3 times and the M3 beat me on all. The M3 was playing around, waiting for me to catch up so he can do it again. I've read on some previous posts on how some folks killed an M3 - sounds like the M3 they raced weren't a real race... because I floored my baby to the redline. Hopefully my order for head/cams won't disappoint me. Can't wait to install it.

Either he has a LOT of work done to his M3 or your car really needs those mods. Good death.

M3 must have been modded or he was the better driver with gear selection.
Either way, reason to mod your car!

Respectable loss. Now get modding. Who am I kidding, I've had my heads and cam for months now, and haven't had the time for the install. I guess I need to get off my *** too.

I think I've had more run-ins w/M3's that most cars, and granted, ALOT of M3 drivers just plain suck, but I think I've left most of them kinda embarrased.

A recent one was with new M3, I'm behind him at the light, and he shoots me a smirk.

The light turns green, he guns it, I floor it too, and quickly change lanes and as I'm flying past him on the right, I see him looking in his rearview mirror trying to find me. Silly rich goober...

Yeah... I'm sure he was pretty heavily modded to be able to take you like that. M3's are slightly slower than a stock LS1, so if he was literally playing around, then I would say he has some money into that thing. I don't think a difference in driving abilities can make THAT much of a difference, from a roll race like that. I could be wrong though... Nice death

Yea there's no way a stock M3 could toy around with you like that. Unless you were just having a bad acid trip and he was actually behind you instead of ahead. I wonder what all he had done? Nice death though.

I don't post very often here, but I saw this and it was bugging me a bit. A stock M3 of the latest gereration is capable of running a 13.2@107 which i'd have to say is just as fast, if not faster than a stock LS1. Maybe stock LS1's are faster than this, but I never thought they were. Stock against stock the race would be very very close. This is just my 2 cents on this.

I've been noticing alot of M3 kills on LS1 sites lately. I'm alittle confused on their "easy" wins. When the 03 Cobra was first tested in MM&FF one of the editors ran his stock M3 to a 13.0 If they are low 13 second cars, why do people act like they just raped a stock 4.6

With a stock Formula I was slowly passing the M3 I raced from a roll....15mph to 100. I got a door on him.

I took a stock M3 with 4.10 gears, lid and loudmouth by about 2 cars from 0-100. I'd say it'd be close stock for stock, I, however am a terrible driver. Luckily for me a $300 cam swap, and $700 for full exhaust was all I needed to be able to put at least 5-6 lengths on one

Well, you are right, the two cars are very close, and it would be a close race stock vs. stock... And most M3's dont run 13.2's, just like most LS1's dont run 12.9's, like they are capable of. The thing is, He said that the M3 was PLAYING with him, meaning the M3 was MUCH faster, and that is why myself and others had the responses we did...

I've raced two different E46 M3's and walked them both times. This was with the mods listed and a Random Y-pipe with Cats. I don't about about an M3 running 107 'cause thats what I trap with my mods and if I'm walking them on the highway or from a 40 roll then they aren't running at 107

m3s have run 12s stock.fairly even race against an m6 ls1.

i had one smoke me on the hwy. from several 70-110 runs.im doubting he was stock.another time(it mightve been the same guy)we ran from about 50-80 and i pulled a car and was walking.

my latest run in with one since i added my stall i absolutely crushed one from a 30 mph roll.by the time i hit 70 he was way back.

stall makes a major difference.stock ones are no longer a threat but m3s are fast cars.

I've been on many a road course with M3's and have always been able to pass them on the straights. ( and keep up in the corners )
