Coming from a built 04 Mustang gt myself, and both my dad and brother having built 06 gt's as well, I can honestly say the 3 valve swap into a new edge stang would not be a worthwhile investment IMO. It was fun running each other when one would do a mod, then the other, etc, etc....Before I did the cams and nitrous (was just full bolt ons, gears and tuned) it was a drivers race with my bro in his full bolt on, gears and tuned 3 valve. He would pull ever so slightly after a 100 mph, but barely anything lol. Unless you can get that 3 valve for dirt cheap i'd just build your current 2 valve, or go with something better period

To my knowledge, a worked set of 3v heads will outflow the trick flows. In any event, for around 2500 for the swap, dropping 70 or so pounds off the front, dropping in a motor with less mileage all adds up to a worthwhile investment to me. Of course, I've been wrong before, so stick around and y'all can watch me fail, haha!

Oops, just read that you said "stock" 3v's. Yeah, pretty sure the trick flows will outflow a set of stock 3v's by a decent bit.

Apparently the stock 3V heads flow about 225 @ .600 lift.

Hmmm, they may be closer than I thought. Stock 3v's probably aren't too far off of unported trick flows. I know worked 3v's can flirt with 300 intake.

a trick flow 2v would make a great sleeper if done right. 99% of 2v's run poopily.

I have found that more people hate on 3v's than even 2v's though honestly.

Can't say as I know of one. But, I do know that a stock headed, cammed 3v will skull drag an equally modded 2v all over the road...I'm not going to be building an all out race car.

If you want a sleeper 2 valve for really cheap just throw a 100-125 at it. Don't have all the fancy gauges exposed and whtnot, and you will surprise the hell ot of a lot people lol That's exactly the way mine was setup, and i'd get some who were absolutely shocked, since they didn't hear blower whine, see gauges, etc. It made 400 rwhp and 500 rwtq on a 100 shot. On a 3200 lb car with 3.90's and a 5-speed it did pretty damn good for what it was lol

Gt4urass, in my own personal experience both cars equally modded are a very tight race. My bro made 320 rwhp with his cammed 3 valve, and I made 285 in my my cammed 2 valve. With a 300 lb weight difference it was a VERY tight race

I 100% agree with you bud, and appreciate the input
Now picture your stang 100lbs lighter, with your brother's power. Gigiddy. Once again, not LS levels of performance, but respectable and still affordable IMHO.

True, that is a good point about it being even lighter by a 100 lbs in a new edge. Kind of forgot that fact lol.

Or throw a turbo on it...
I'm hoping to get a set of Trickflows on my pos. These stock unported heads aren't making the cut anymore. Lol

Lol. Like I said, I'm definitely not going to be running down your car any time soon...err, ever, but I think a camming New Edge would make a lot of guys giggle (understandably) until I actually pulled decent times out of her. We'll see, I'm hoping for the bestest.

Your car is already a freaking monster. With those trick flows I think you're going to be scared to drive it haha. That is, of course, if your stock drivetrain doesn't implode lol. I'm not trying to jinx you though! Best of luck man, I'll be looking forward to the results.

No worries, you aren't jinxing it. I expect it to blow out anytime now and see it in my rear view mirror
But thanks man, we'll see how things pan out for next season!
