Nice run. Your 5th gen is best N/A one I have seen still. Should get real nasty on the bottle.

What do Goats weigh? I thought they were only 3600 or so. Nice run man, but yeah, that ridiculous shift threw away all of his momentum.

Stock GTO's are around 3670-3700lbs. The common weight loss mods combined with typical boltons that save weight (headers, exhaust, underdriven pulley, smaller torque converter, 1pc driveshaft, etc.) put them in the 3500lb range.

Diet Coke is aptly named though: his car is on a diet that a supermodel would be envious of. Believe he has it's weight down around 3,200lbs now?

I agree, and I think there is video confirming this.

That is screaming. It lifts the front end pretty hard at WOT.

Why? The bodies natural position is with the hand directly in front of its shoulder joint and 3 or 4 inches down from the shoulder joint height. At 12 oclock position your arm is not in the best position to react naturally.

Now if he had his hat on sideways and stereo thumping out rap then the proper position would be with one hand at 12 O'clock position.

I actually had one specced @ 257/269 109lsa, just havent followed up on it yet
I just built a 447 for a C6z and it has a Fast 102 setup and I speced him a 255/273. Worked really well. His centerline was obviously setup for the fast and also nitrous (up to about 400). His car made 640 rwhp on 93. On E85 or race gas we could bump that a good bit.

Diet - what was your weight in that video, less driver? Or with driver? Fantastic motor setup, btw. Very few 5th Gens break past 127 NA even with 427s in front of the windshield...far fewer do it with a 4L80, stall and LS3-based heads. Compression, rpm and valve timing are king! If you were in north GA I would buy you a beer this week and meet the car.

I'm visiting family here in Cumming until Saturday. Say it, go ahead. Rolls off the tongue nicely. "My parents love Cumming!" I should be in the t-shirt biz to fund my car habits...

PS - to the haters on the GTO shifting - our hydraulics suck. I have had ongoing issues on mine all of this year. He did a damn good job to hang as well as he did against a prepped and proven 133-car that shifts for the driver - N20 or not! ;-p

Certainly not hating, as I doubt that I could do better. I'm just kinda partial to GTO's and will look for any way to justify a loss, lol . Both cars ran damn good for sure!

I had a full tank and some crap in the car, so maybe 3680 or so with me in it (260). Car should go 135-136 next time out after this round of updates to the motor and hopefully finally run a 9.x.

It was a spur of the moment race - if it were pre-arranged I would have turned TC lockup on... it's worth 50hp from 125-155 mph
