Oh really. Because the new lt1 has been around soooo long that we can automatically say this. Fail.

I would have to give edge to the Z06 for now too just the fact of the cubes. In the future that could change though

It would be a good run for sure.

551whp with a STOCK CAI and unported intake manifold. LMAO! LMR estimates another 20whp with a cold air. Jeremy Formato got 10whp from a ported LT1 manifold FYI. Remember this is from a lot less cubes!

Prior to the C7 tune, did a run with stock C6Z06. The Z edged out a little up top. It's definitely very close...

Don't worry....Next time you see the C7 in action, it'll be something a little more significant than ^that^

I love Corvettes. So much bang for the buck. ...and the new LT1 is badass and all, but put me in the group of believers that the h/c Z06 would still come out the victor. Yay cubes.

I think the reason he is saying this is because of the cube advantage of the LS7. There were cam only LS7's making 550+whp within months of there inception...and there are many N/A cars now, well over 600whp. No matter what you say about the LT1, it's at a disadvantage N/A because of the cubes.

Again, the C6Z put up impressive numbers fast also. The LS7 will not bow to the new LT1 if the mods are the same on both motors. It's simply a matter of physics. There are stroked out LS7's that are almost at 700whp N/A. I don't think the LT1 is going to get that much power without some F.I. or juice.

Bottom line, the LT1 is n awesome motor and we will see some great numbers and times! It will not keep up with an LS7 mod for mod though.

And no matter what you say, the LT1 still hasn't been around very long. And the LS7 is still likely to drop a valve.

LOL @ the valve comment.

Like I stated before, the LS7 was over 550RWHP cam only within months of it coming out...that number went over 600 pretty quick.

Currently, LMR has a stroked LS7 at 738RWHP...and there are many other stock cubed LS7's that are 650RWHP+ with a good head/cam/Bolton/tune setup and a bump in compression.

I just don't see the LT1 doing this. Not N/A.

And h/c Z06 have made 600 and over. And are 300lbs lighter like said Z06 should win. But we will see when they run. Its only matter of time.

No there wasn't. Lol Those were heads/cam numbers in the very beginning. I remember when Katech's Street Attack 54Xwhp LS7-powered Camaro was a huge deal in 2007. 550+whp just wasn't common in those days. The LT1 lacks displacement but has years of technology on its side. You'd be a fool not to consider that.

Considering what LMR has done with very little R&D, 600whp LT1's will be a thing of the future. There are 4XX stroker kits for the LT1 currently in development. Here's an engine dyno graph of one that TSP is testing. Keep in mind these are the preliminary stages, basically heads/cam cars lacking majority of the usual supporting mods.

Just like with every other GM series engine it will get better with time.

Trust me, eventually it will. All things equal.

I am fully aware of how well LS7's perform. It took guys a while to put up numbers like that tho.

The C7 has been out since what, late August/early October? As I mentioned, LMR's car already made 551 with a stock airbox, stock (non-ported) intake manifold which guys are seeing 10-15whp from ported ones, no U/D, EWP etc....not even full bolt-ons, basically just heads/cam/exhaust & tune and that's it. All from a little 376ci too. I can only imagine what we will see with more R&D of this engine.

300 pounds heavier than a C6 Z, but the C7's LT1 makes a considerable amount more low-end/midrange torque. Stock they're at 300 ft-lbs @ 1000-rpm!!

I'm just excited about the latest series engine.
