I broke a 4l60e with a bone stock LT1.
Your point? I know of a handful of guys running built 80's on higher power cars with little issues - hell, even stock JY 4l80e's with a $100 shift kit in them.
At the end of the day, I don't have said car yet. However when I do, I will spend my own money as I please and build it as I please. I promise if it'll really stroke anyone's ego, I'll admit when/if I'm wrong with my choices.

I'm the guy who gets lucky enough to get the junk yard motor with a slight crack in the block. 800 miles, spun a bearing. Rebuild, start up. No oil pressure. New block, rebuild. Haven't started it yet. Hopefully this one holds.

Sorry to hear about all that. I wish you luck on this motor! I've heard so many horror stories about people losing engines from local builds. I think when the motor in the Buick goes, I am going to invest in some measuring tools and go for it myself. Although I probably couldn't afford a build from someone else anyways...

I suppose this will be the season to really see how quite a few 5.3s, forged 347 5.3s, and stock lq4s can do when pushed to the limits around here.
