First one was stock, second one was built by a local guy. I was less than happy with the results. Third one was a level 5 RPM that I put 0 miles on. I also blew up a 5.3. Get at me bros.

Stick to your day job - psychology is clearly not your thing

I broke a 4l60e with a bone stock LT1.

Your point? I know of a handful of guys running built 80's on higher power cars with little issues - hell, even stock JY 4l80e's with a $100 shift kit in them.

At the end of the day, I don't have said car yet. However when I do, I will spend my own money as I please and build it as I please. I promise if it'll really stroke anyone's ego, I'll admit when/if I'm wrong with my choices.
I wasn't trying to take away from the 80es. I think they're great transmissions. If I still had my TA I would still have one.

No he didn't. NO ONE blows up a 5.3. Or a 4.8. You put a turbo On them and they make 1200 wheel. Every time. #impossibletoblowup

My bad dude. The quote may have helped but it would have definitely helped if I wasn't bored as fuq in the dead zone of Des Moines at my grandparents house on my phone. I'm officially an uncle as my first niece was born last night.

Good gawd I need sleep

It is physically unpossible to blow up a 5.3, let alone a forged 5.3.

I'm the guy who gets lucky enough to get the junk yard motor with a slight crack in the block. 800 miles, spun a bearing. Rebuild, start up. No oil pressure. New block, rebuild. Haven't started it yet. Hopefully this one holds.

Sorry to hear about all that. I wish you luck on this motor! I've heard so many horror stories about people losing engines from local builds. I think when the motor in the Buick goes, I am going to invest in some measuring tools and go for it myself. Although I probably couldn't afford a build from someone else anyways...

It sucks because I could have just built a 400+ cubic from the start for what I have in a 5.3. Oh well.

Sounds like a headache altogether man. Wish you luck with this next one.

I suppose this will be the season to really see how quite a few 5.3s, forged 347 5.3s, and stock lq4s can do when pushed to the limits around here.

Nobody likes you, Mike. Go away!
