As far as the fifth gen... my first mod wouldnt be making more hp. From the clutch assembly back is where I would start.
My L99 auto 5th gen traps 114.70 mph in the 1/4 and to date NO tune and exhaust coyote has handed my *** to me but a full bolt on coyote has pulled me pretty bad from his 60roll pulls. If that car says or is a Full Bolt On camaro it runs poorly from what I've seen

This same 5.0 im referring to trapped consistent 116.XX with JUST a catback. He made 378/367 then. He tuned it and made 398/395. Nothing against you... but his car wouldnt have an issue with the best running 114mph car...atleast on the roll anyway. I cant speak for digs as his car is still on stock tires

Im only making 418rwhp 428rwtq on a car that tipped the scale at 3982lbs without me. My car shines in the 1/8 7.56 my best so far. From a roll my 3.27s shine I've out ran coyotes from 20 to the 100s 30 to the hundreds 50 to the hundreds but 60 my rpms are at 2500 sucks for me tHats where I get pulled yet my best friends 5.0 traps 119 @ 1/4 but runs 11.90s I pull him on any speed but ones with 3.31 gears will and have pulled my at 40 and above. Thats why I say this 5th gen runs slow. All I do is 5th gens amd know what they run and trust me I know coyotes can and will out run a 5th gen then they have the right tuner and setups

See that clears up my theory, thats about right for the 5.0 so that means the camaro isn't setup right if it's a full bolt on car. Thats just my point of view.

You give them more credit than I. I would start at the dealership and go back from there.

Well, to clarify, the 5.0 is a better straight line car.. the Camaro is a better road course car. At least until the IRS 2015's come out.

I trapped 114 stock in my manual 5.0. Never had issue with 5th gens stock or even cammed ones once I started modding it. From a dig or roll.

If this is a full bolt on camaro even an auto that know how to drive he should pull a stock 5.0. SHOULD on paper. But **** happens. But we also don't know what his idea of full bolt ons is. It could just be exhaust, codl air and a TB spacer.

Granted the new 5.0s run strong, I've yet to see one perform that well at our local strip.

Anything can happen on the street though!
I have seen 5,0 go 12.3-12.5 bone stock at 112-114. Same track same day CTS-V and ZL1's run 12.8-13.9. Then on the street the CTS-V pulled the 5.0 and the ZL1.

This is what I have been saying for a while.

There is more to it than the clutch to. But it would be a good place. Those heavy *** 20's has got to go. A nice 18" or the z28's wheels would be a great place to start. The Z's wheels drops like 40lb off the SS wheels. Just going to stock Mustang weight clutch and wheels would net about 60lb less in rotating. That's pretty huge and no set of headers is gonna overcome that.

I would think they would catch up then on the roadcourse. That should make it a real dog fight.

I still think a 1LE and a 5.0 6 speed manual would be a good race. The 1LE fixes a major flaw. Gearing.

I believe you too, thats why I keep telling the 5th gen guys to be careful what is done or who tunes them, I myself have been pulling cammed 5th gens diggs and rolls. I ran an 11.91 when I had my 1st starter tune emailed to me, while my buddy same mods tune 100% runs 11.45 @118mph. I will find out this March where I stand.

Automatic 5th gens come with VVT which it's been proven is the way to go, people get talked into doing the ls3 conversion and well they don't run a nice as a well tuned VVT cam
