Built motor is head work. I have stock crank stock head. The g8 I raced had full intake full exhaust cam tune and nos. he beat me by a car when I blew my motor. Like I said I will do the race agin same roll with gopro.

SpeedFreak123, What are the mods on the GTO you were driving? Is it yours? LS1 or LS2? If you are gonna be so lazy as to not put your car/mods in your signature, then you should at least put it in the text.

Built motor is NOT head work. Headwork is headwork. Different pistons/rods qualifies for "built bottom end" on a N/A car, but turbo cars are different and most turbo guys don't bother with porting or aftermarket head or cam upgrades as all they really need to do is up the boost. Which you know as well as I do that in those turbo cars cases they will usually refer to a piston/rod/bigger turbo engine as a "built engine".

And you also know that most stock turbo cars already have stout cranks, which would explain why you didn't upgrade it because you didn't have too right? I also bet that your head probably flow well enough that port work and cams aren't worth the money spent for the power right?

If I were to port the head it would make a difference. The stock heads are ok on the speeds. Any head work will help out. I have seen cams for my car that make power. Haven't really looked for crank cause mine was fine. Plus even tho I have a big turbo don't mean I'm making a lot of power. The motors are still knock limited on pump gas. I have seen on built motor cars anywhere from 330-350whp on pump gas.

I was riding shotgun in the GTO and I took the video. project > gopro. sorry.

we only had 2 pulls. I yelled reel em in in the video. In the second race he had a half car start and we were sneaking by when he let out. They were both good races.

And as far as the built thing goes....headwork does not designate built from not built. Id call that engine built because your only power limiting factor right now is fuel.

It's a built engine end of. You know how many people forge their bottom end and still go with stock heads? What do you suppose we call that? An unbuilt engine? Those were good races and both cars we fairly close I'd say.

People get assembled and built switched around. I say my engine is cam only with boltons but yet I changed the pistons (ls2), rods (ls2 w/ arp rod bolts), lifters (ls7), pushrods (tsp), rockers (comp trunion upgrade), and heads (ls3). All factory internal parts except the rod bolts, trunion bearings, and push rods...

does that make mine built?

that mazda runs like garbage...

Sorry about the other races. They were before i get there lol. Yes the only thing now is fuel. I will have to run e85 or meth to make more power then I'm at now.

Not embarrassed at all. Fun car to drive. Quick for what it is. Hangs with a car that makes 40+ more hp. Yea he was coming back on me but I was still with him.

Sounds good man. It will be better lol. I'm down when ever it's nice out. You better pass me faster next time from the low roll lol. We could even do a dig once it gets warm out. Id have to say that was one of the best runs I had.
